  • Regulates power to both the small and large sections of a dual burner
  • Typical failure symptoms: only one ring heats, no heat, won't switch between sizes, or heat stuck on high/erratic
  • Mounts behind the surface knob and governs burner temperature settings
  • Restores consistent simmer-to-boil control across all settings
What's included: 1 dual infinite switch Installation notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the cooktop to cool completely
  • Access the control panel, then photograph or label all wire positions before removal
  • Move wires to the new switch one at a time, matching terminal markings
  • Reuse the existing knob; reassemble and test both inner and outer element settings

For Frigidaire Dual Infinite Switch (Surface Element Control) (Part Number: OEM13451892)

Stacey for Model Number 628.9217710

I have a Kenmore free standing range. the oven does not preheat as fast as it use to. the broil element does not appear to turn on during preheat mode. if I turn the switch from preheat to broil the broil element comes on. the bottom / bake element appears to work as normal. I think the selector (switch ) is bad. (preheat, bake, broil, off) any suggestions? this unit is old don't know if parts are available. estimate oven to be a 1975 to 1977 model.

Stacey, Unfortunately due to the age of the unit and the manufacturer not having information on it we would not be able to assist with parts. Although the thermostat would most likely be the cause of the failure.

Hello John, You would want to check the elements to see if they have a burn mark in them. It does sound like an element issue but you should always double check. You can use a flashlight and look to see if you see any dark spots on the element by shining light on them. If the elements are burnt they would need to be replaced. It looks like both elements are part number 316049706.

Hello Michael, This can be the switch 316239500 or the surface element 316555800. The surface elements, when they fail, are usually obvious when removed and inspected as the part of the element that burns out is easily seen. You can also test for 240Vac at the element. If the 240Vac is at the element, the element has failed. If the voltage isn't there, the switch has failed.
