Alex February 10, 2016 for Model Number PLD2850RDC2 My dishwasher will drain, but only when I disconnect the drain hose from the kitchen sink disposal and hold it at a low height (i.e. make it easier for the motor to push the water out). It looks like the motor can push the water out of the dishwasher if manually put the drain hose pointing down into a bowl on the floor, but it doesn't have the juice to push the water upwards into the air gap and downwards into the garbage disposal. Does this mean that I need a new drain pump assembly? I've already replaced the inlet valve, but the same issue persists.
1 Answer Hello Alex, You will need to make sure there are no screens or filters stopped up and the check ball is not stuck. The drain pump 154580301 is the most likely cause of this complaint. Read More...
Steve December 09, 2015 Hello, what would happen if I did not put the purple and white wires back properly on my drain pump. Thank you.
Preston October 29, 2015 for Model Number GDT530PGD0WW Hi there, was having issues with the drain pump operating at a reduced flow rate, water cant make it over the high rise loop in the hose. Opened it up and I found a large piece of glass inside against the impeller. It is still running at a reduced flow rate with the glass removed. I also noticed the core lamination was covered in rust, inside and out. Ordered the replacement model (WD35X20874). What are your thoughts on the culprit?
1 Answer Hello Preston. It sounds like the drain pump is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...

Willie April 05, 2015 for Model Number GLD4355RFB0 Halfway through the cycle the unit starts to squeal.

Allen February 27, 2015 for Model Number FDB2415LFB0 I took the drain pump off the plastic housing and now I can't get that seal to not leak. There is a gasket between them that looks good but it will not seal the pump properly. Is the gasket replaceable or am I stuck buying a whole new pump/housing unit? is there anything else I could do to seal that space?
1 Answer Allen, Individual repair parts for the drain pump are not available from the manufacturer. Play it safe and replace the pump assembly, do you really want to risk ruining the floor or the ceiling in the room below ? Read More...
Mike February 04, 2015 Is the impeller on the drain pump suppose to come off when I pull it apart? I have a frigidaire dishwasher.
Lovinridgebacks January 24, 2015 for Model Number fdbb1940ds0 Dishwasher not draining. Recently tiled floor and moved dishwasher. Problem started after that and after adjusting legs. We have a Multi meter and have looked up how to use it but we don't know what we're truly looking for? Specifically, what do we want to see? We only get 7 volts coming from wires that connect to drain pump when its on drain cycle. Is that possible? Pump shows continuity.
1 Answer Lovinridgebacks, When testing the drain pump there should be 120 vac to the drain pump. If there is only 7 vac getting to the pump then you will want to check at the control board and see if it is sending 120 vac during drain. If not then replace the control board and if so then check the wiring. Read More...
Jim November 08, 2014 for Model Number FPHD2491KF0 My dishwasher is not draining. I pulled it out from under counter and tested drain pump. I put my volt meter on orange wire terminal and white wire terminal going to transformer of drain pump. Should I have power going to these terminals as soon as cycle starts? How much ? and if not what next?
1 Answer Jim, The drain pump would not turn on at the beginning of the cycle and when it does turn on it should have 120 vac getting to it. If the drain pump is getting power but not draining then you would want to check the drain to make sure that there is nothing in it causing the impeller not to turn. If it is clear but still not running with power applied then replace the drain pump. Read More...
