Chris, You can get the high temp connectors for the unit which would be part number TJMA02875-1. Cut the bad part off the wire, strip the insulation about 1/4" from the end and crimp on a connector.

Tina for Model Number FEF368GCD

I replaced the burner in my stove because it was not coming on. The replacement part was 316135401. The new part is not the same configuration as the old part. The old part had a small and large connector on one side and the same on the other side. The new unit has two large connector on one side and one large and one small connector on the other. The wires do not fit all the connectors. How do you connect the wires. I have two big wires that are orange. Two small wires - one wire is double wired that is gray and the other is black.

1 Answer

Tina, Alan, There are numbers on the back of the element. There will be a black that connects to 2a, and one to 1b. The grey will connect to 2b and the orange will connect to the element.

Gerardo, This burner element 316135401 is showing to be the larger of the elements and should connect the same as the original. The only difference may be that there was a wire from the terminal on the old one that went to the box that they eliminated.

Hello Hector, The elements are designed to cycle on and off as a means to control the temperature. With nothing on the element, it will cycle on and off rather quickly.
