Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Element (Part Number: OEM13250445)

1 Answer

Cesar, The more likely problem would be the "dual" infinite control switch But without a model number it would be very difficult to determine which switch you need. You can remove power to the range, remove the back panel and the switch. The switch should have a manufacturer part number stamped on the side of the housing (like the attached part photo 316436001). With that number you/we could cross reference the part number to a service replacement part and order and install the part.

Tim, The 316135401 / 316224200 is the correct 9" Surface Element for the model number you supplied. Based on our information, both the front surface elements are the same 9" burner. You should also consider a Large Surface Element Switch 316436001 / 316021501, it's more likely to be the issue, unless there's obvious damage or arc marks on the inside of the glass cooktop. Both parts are in stock and available at this time. Thanks,

Carolyn, With the temperature on the burner going straight to hot then this issue would most likely be in the infinite switch which controls the element. The part number for the infinite switch is 316436001.

Richard for Model Number 7909621940A

I purchased a new element (front left) 316135401. The 4 four connections on the old element are 1a large connection orange wire, 1b small connection black wire, 2a large connection orange wire, 2b small connection grey/silver wire. Tried connecting the wires following the naming convention, connection sizes correspond. Element didn't work. So I looked at the Q&A and read that the old black 1b wire should go to the new 2a connector but where do the others go? The post mentions 2 black, 1 silver and 1 orange wire. I have 2 orange wires so which goes where? Thanks.

Richard, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not supply a new wiring diagram for the part and we have to go off the wiring of the unit itself to be able to determine the wiring of the part.

Ron for Model Number FES367DCB

My right front burner switch was getting sloppy and was getting difficult to shut off. I bought a replacement from local appliance retailer. followed online video to install. the replacement did not look like the original but I put the wires where they looked like they went. Also found on line where someone was told which wire goes where and it was the same as I had done. Problem the burner works but not the same as the other 3. and it looks different under the glass when on. I has solid red line of the element and is not very hot. does not stay on but pulses on HI. The others are full on HI and have little dark spaces alone the element showing when on. do I need to replace the burner too? or is that switch changing how the burner works..

1 Answer

Hello Ron. Make sure the wiring is correct on the switch. If so, you will need to replace that element.

Francine, The smaller terminal can be cut off and add a larger 1/4" high temp terminal to fit the element terminal. The part number that could be ordered is TJMA02875-1.

Kt for Model Number 79094359700

Several people are having the same issue with your 9' surface burner replacement part 316135401 replacing original part 316224201. The connections on the new replacement parts are a larger and difference size than on the original part. On my original element the black wire with a smaller connection plugs into 1b. The black that you are stating connects to 2a is a small wire connection and it's a larger connection needed for your replacement part. The design, location of terminals 1a, 2a, 1b, 2b and wiring has changed because the eliminated box on the side of the element that had an orange wire, changed from the original part, why do you not offer a new wiring diagram showing the differences and offer an updated diagram for your consumers?

KT, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not supply a new wiring diagram for the part and we have to go off the wiring of the unit itself to be able to determine the wiring of the part.
