Robert February 21, 2012 for Model Number GLEB30S8AQA Bake element does not work. Tested for continuity, it tested OK. Could it be the thermal switch which is bad? Is there a relay that could be bad, or could it be the clock timer assembly? How does one check the clock timer assembly? By the way the broiler works fine.
1 Answer Hello Robert. You will need to test for power coming from the clock 318010700 to the element in bake mode. If there is no power there, you will need to replace the clock assembly on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello James. Disconnect the power to the unit and remove all the racks out of the inside. Once the racks are removed, you will unscrew the old element and pull it out and unplug the wires going to it. Then install the new element 318255006 in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...

Deborah May 11, 2011 for Model Number 790.468 Sears Kenmore Dual Fuel range Slide-in model purchased in 2001 The baking element caught on fire and broke in two. So, it needs to be replaced. Is this something I can do myself? Is it fairly easy to do? Do the screws come with the order or can I reuse the existing ones? Obviously, I have never done this, so some guidance is needed. Thanks.
