Nancy for Model Number FFBD2409LS0A

On your website I looked up my leaky dishwasher by the model number (FFBD2409LS0A) and it showed a repair for the bottom door gasket. I ordered the part right off the page but the part I got is not the the same as the one on the dishwasher or the one in the video. I ordered #AP5809675. I received #80900650. Then I used the compatibility tool on your page and it says this part I got is not compatible. How can I get the correct lower door gasket for my dishwasher? Thank you, Nancy

1 Answer

Nancy, You ordered and received the correct part. The 809 number will be the manufacturers part number. Sometimes removing the outer panel helps you find the channel the lower gasket goes into.

Hello Mary, the gasket should fit snug into its recess in the freezer door,it can be pulled out but not easily, also check the sealing face of the cabinet the gasket seals to, is there anything sticky on it that may be tugging on the gasket. If all seems ok please repost your question with the model number so we can so we can view the door area.

Alice, The door gasket should just slide up into the bottom of the door and it is possible that the door liner may be faulty.

Erin, if the dishwasher is leaking from the door, it would be recommended that the lower spray arm 5304517203 is inspected for any cracks along the bottom. If there are no cracks, the next step would be to check the water level after the unit has filled to identify if it is overfilling. If the water level is filling where the water is fully covering the element, it has overfilled and either the valve 154637401 is sticking open (if it receives voltage for 27 seconds but water continues to flow in) or the main control 5304512731 is calling for too much water (valve gets 120VAC for more than 27 seconds).

Tania, the lower door seal gasket 809006501 for your model should fit into the door snugly. If it is loose and falling out after being installed fully, then it is likely that there is too much of a gap between the outer panel 154597907 and inner panel 154494601. The panels can be inspected for any warps or bends and corrected as needed.

Amy for Model Number FDB1050REM2

Hello, my dishwasher is leaking from the bottom, onto the floor. It sounds like I need a new gasket and your website has directed me to this one. However, the current gasket is quite different. It has a notch on one of the long sides, in the middle, where there is no yellow trim. Also each of the 2 short ends has a piece on it that has yellow trim. The gasket pictured doesn't have this big notch or the yellow trim on the ends. Is there a different gasket I should look at? Thank you.

1 Answer

Amy, the gasket 809006501 will have the notch in the center as well as on the side just as the original does. This gasket is a direct replacement that is recommended by the manufacturer for your model.

Krystal, there is a specific slot that the seal fits into and it can be tricky to get it started, I would recommend using a mirror to help locate the small gap that it fits into. Once it is in place, it will stay there.
