Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Dishwasher Bottom Door Gasket (Part Number: OEM17429034)

Mleo This door gasket 809006501 would be the correct one for your unit and you would not need a 5 or 6 inch notch in it. If you view the video attached to the parts information screen, you'll find it an easier repair procedure, not too difficult at all. Thanks,

Don, This issue sounds like it may be a latch assembly that is loose or the strike being bad causing the door to push open a little. Also check the door switches to make sure that they are good.

I had the same trouble with the bottom door gasket not staying in. The door does indeed have a slot. The thicker double-ridged side of the gasket goes into that slot. Here's the Problem and the Fix: The video doesn't show or mention this slot. And you CANNOT see the slot except from the outside with the door panel off. I had to slide the gasket in as shown in the video. I did not push it all the way in. THEN from the OUTSIDE (with the door closed) I pushed the double-ridged edge into the slot with a screwdriver. NOW the gasket stays in place. If you don't push the gasket into that slot it just lays there and moves around whenever you open/close the door. BTW I don't see any reason to loosen the top two screws - on my model they do not hold the door panel in any way. Hope this helps!

Chris, There is a slot at the bottom of the inner door that you will slide this gasket into the panel. It does fit in a certain way but does slide in.

Hello Chet. There is a lip on the inside of the inner door panel the gasket has to slide into to lock it into place. If not, eventually you will get a leak.

Hello Richard, I'm sorry but since we didn't design or manufacture this part, we cannot answer questions about its' design. Any questions about why a part is made the way it is made should be directed to the manufacturer. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Mike, The part number for the gasket will be 809006501. We do not show a black gasket and the manufacturer may have changed this gasket.

Kat for Model Number PLD2855RFC3

The video was clear and helpful, thanks. My dishwasher began leaking 2 to 3 Cups every load, in a steady stream to the left of the logo plate at center bottom. I put a pan there to protect my floor until the replacement gasket arrived P# 809006501. When I removed the stainless panel, the foam pad had accumulated dry soap powder -- about 1-2 tsp. -- right where the base of the dispenser hits it. I replaced the soap dispenser a year ago, because the rinse agent dispenser was leaking (two dispensers: one part). Q1. Do I have another problem? The gasket I removed from the door is in very good shape; no deterioration anywhere, just a little soap residue on it. My replacement gasket does NOT have a 6" notch that the removed gasket has in the center of the insertion edge; it has a 5mm notch there. Q2. Have I got the right replacement part? Q3. If there's no deterioration on the original, am I replacing the wrong part that is causing the leak? Q4. Should I order the splash guards? Q5. Can you suggest any other diagnostics, to troubleshoot the leak cause, so I only do this job twice, instead of 3 times. ;( Thanks for any help!

Kat, The model number you supplied [PLD2855RFC3] indicates you have the wrong part number installed the door gasket should be 154827601 / 154827601 Dishwasher Tub Gasket, that could explain the difference in the length and "gap" in the gasket. If the "foam pad had accumulated dry soap powder" on it, then there's not likely a leak from the dispenser, the foam pad would be wet/moist. It's most likely dried out residual moisture/soap from the previous repair. The splash guards aren't the likely issue either the tub would leak at the corners as well as the middle of the door. Our suggestions would be to install the correct tub seal, Check the dishwasher to be level in both directions, and check the lower spray arm for split seams, debris in the venturi openings, and that the spray arm rotates freely and is not "sticking" and check to see if the water depth in the center of the tub is 1 to 1.5 inches deep and is hot (at least 120 dgrs.F.).

Hello Nick. You have to press the gasket into the channel on the inner door liner.
