For Frigidaire Dishwasher Bottom Door Gasket (Part Number: OEM17429034)

Monzo for Model Number FDBB4365FC1

I replaced the dishwasher bottom door gasket because I was getting water dripping out of lower left corner of door as the rubber was torn and loose from the plastic gasket part....after replacing the bottom door gasket I am still having small leak in lower left corner of door. The new gasket does not have plastic tabs on the ends with seal going up the side of the door approximately 1 inch like the old gasket did...I believe this to be the problem ? Does your part # 809006501 have the plastic tabs on the ends with the seal attached ?

1 Answer

Monzo, No, we would not expect the replacement Gasket to have the Plastic tabs on the ends of the seal. You will need to order 154701001 / 154701001 the Splash Shields for each end of the gasket. You may also want to check and make sure the dishwasher is level in both directions, the lower spray arm seams aren't split and there's no debris protruding from the openings in the spray arm.

Stephen, check and make sure the dishwasher is installed and secured to the cabinet properly and that the door aligns to the tub opening, make sure the dishwasher is level in both directions. Check the float, to make sure it moves up and down freely and is not sticking, allowing the machine to overfill. Then remove and check the lower spray arm seams to make sure they haven't split open, and the openings for debris or deposits that may be directing the wash water at the bottom of the door.

John for Model Number FGHD2465NF1A

I ordered Part Number 809006501 to install on my Frigidaire dishwasher. The part I received has a notch in the center of the lower edge which would be the "seal side" of the gasket. The part in the dishwasher does not have this notch. I have checked a few sources and this does appear to be the correct part for this model dishwasher. Does this notch serve a purpose? As a follow-up to the above question... When running the dishwasher with the front door removed, I can see some water along the front edge of the dishwasher pan right at the bottom door seal. I have found a couple of videos online which also shows the same thing I am seeing. What is considered an acceptable amount of water to be at this location while the dishwasher is running.

1 Answer

Hello John. Yes, the door panel has a tab that the notch slides over to seat the seal. Acceptable amount of water is not leaking onto the floor while the unit is running.

Hello Bill. As long as you have it seated properly into the channel, it should be tight enough not to slide. It sounds like you not getting it pressed into the channel properly on the inner door liner.

Hello Janis. It sounds like the lower door seal is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Jason, You will want to check the spray arms for clogging and cracks. If this is the case then it can force water downward and cause wave action in the dishwasher therefor causing the leaking issue.

Amy, According to what we can see there would be 2 notches, one towards the side and the other in the center.

Shane, Remove the outer door panel and make sure the seal was installed and seated properly on the door liner. If all's OK, Then check the lower spray arm to make sure it's rotating properly and check the lower dish rack and tub bottom for articles or obstructions interfering with the spray arm. Check the lower spray arm seams and orifices for obstructions or cracks, directing the water towards the bottom of the door.
