Ag May 16, 2014 for Model Number kenmore ref 25351694102 My refrigerator will only dispense 2 or 3 cubes. Do I need to replace the drum and blade? The auger is not broken.
1 Answer Hello Ag, The parts you suggested would definitely help if there is any damage to them at all, (does the drum turn freely with the bin empty? Does there appear to be any damage at all to the drive cam?). If it just stops trying and you hear no auger motor, there is a poor connection or a bad winding in the auger motor. You may just need to clean out the small chips of ice in the bottom of the ice bin more often since this will put up resistance to the augers' turning. Read More...
Buckeye Dave February 12, 2014 for Model Number GLHS68EEW0 The drive blade has come loose from the Auger shaft and therefore no ice moves through the pan into the chopper blades. The drum unit appears to be fine. How is the drive blade attached to the auger shaft, is it a press fit? Also the drive blade must fit into the two recessed areas on the drum. Can I spot weld the drive blade to the auger? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Buckeye Dave. The drum 241685101 is what sounds like it is bad on the unit. It has a flat spot for the auger. If so, you will disassemble the bucket to install the part. Read More...
Karen July 18, 2013 for Model Number FRS6HR5JB0 Ice Maker will not dispense Ice. will not crush ice at all, only puts out 3 or four ice cubes.
1 Answer Karen, You will need to check the blade 241684503 and drum 241685101 on the ice bin drive auger 241716101 to make sure neither has stripped off the auger shaft, these are the components that "drive" the cubes to the front of the bin so they dispense out the door dispenser. You also want to check that the shifter arm 241716002 on the side of the bin operates and moves properly and the door in the housing 241885001 opens completely Read More...
