This ice container assembly stores ice in the freezer and feeds it to the dispenser. Replacing a cracked or stripped bin helps restore smooth, reliable dispensing of cubed or crushed ice from your refrigerator.

  • Holds finished ice beneath the icemaker and connects to the auger drive to move ice to the door chute
  • Internal mechanism advances ice and enables crushed-ice operation when selected
  • Helps resolve no or intermittent ice dispensing, auger slippage, or inconsistent cubed/crushed output
  • Direct replacement for damaged or cracked ice buckets
What's included: 1 ice container assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off the icemaker; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Lift out the old bin; discard clumped ice and clear any jams in the chute
  • Align the auger drive coupling and slide the new assembly fully into place
  • Restore power and test both cubed and crushed dispense modes

For Frigidaire Ice Container Assembly (Ice Bucket) (Part Number: OEM12959304)

Jeannine for Model Number FSC23F7DSB8

I"m wondering if this is the right part to order - when I press the ice dispenser, some ice comes out but then it a piece of ice gets stuck under the shield inside the ice container and the motor 'freezes' but keeps trying, whining to go - but if I take out the entire ice tray and try to hand turn the screw/ice mover part it very easily gets stuck because ice gets lodged either under it or somewhere and it can't seem to go anymore. Is this because of the drawer mechanism or is the auger motor too weak? I mean it does crush/dispense ice when it can. I'm confused about what to do. I did empty the entire container yesterday and it spun just fine- but now that there is ice again it gets stuck.

Hello Jeannine, if you have inspected the ice bin with the crusher head and the cube gate and there are no bent or broken parts, the ice cubes are a uniform size, then it sounds like the auger motor is getting weak, it is part 5304462594.

Edward, the part number you supplied, appears to be the dispenser facade on the freezer door, not the ice container. 241515202 is the ice container bin, and it is only the bin/container. the complete bin assembly, with all moving parts is 241914702, but our parts diagram(photo) is incorrect, and in the process of being corrected. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for the correct model number, and understanding.
