Brian for Model Number FRS6LFTGS4

I have a problem that isn't addressed from other questions. I replaced the icemaker 241798231 recently, and the unit will proceed through the ice harvest and water refill without problems. However, after water refill the bail arm remains in an elevated position and if left there the harvest cycle will not initiate when the ice has formed. If I push the bail arm down manually, there is no noticeable resistance, and the harvest cycle will initiate at the right time. What could be the cause of the bail arm remaining in the up position after water fill?

Jan, If you cannot get to it with a nut driver, try a socket or an open-end wrench to get the nut driver out.

Patty, the wire connector cover should wiggle towards the ice maker, exposing the locking tabs of the wire connection. These tabs would then be pressed in at the same time so that the connector can be pulled away from the wall.

Hello Don, check the ice maker's bail arm is still attached, it has to rest on top of the ice cubes in the bin to be able to turn the ice maker off, if this checks ok the ice maker would need to be replaced.
