The Oven broil Igniter is an OEM part for Frigidaire ovens and ranges. This component is responsible for igniting the gas in the oven burner, allowing the oven to heat up. It works by drawing electrical current through the igniter filament until it becomes hot enough to ignite the gas, providing the flame necessary for cooking.

Common causes for an Oven Igniter to fail include a burnt-out filament, a break in the igniter's ceramic base, or a malfunction within the igniter's electrical system.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Igniter include:

  • Oven not starting or heating up
  • Gas smell when the oven is turned on
  • Weak or no glow from the igniter element
  • Unusual noises when attempting to ignite the gas

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

David, The Bake burner igniter is 316489403 / 316489403 Ignitor, bake burner(This oven burner igniter measures 3.5-in in length). The Broil burner igniter is 5304506545 / 316489404 Ignitor, broil burner(Replaces original broil igniter part number 316489404). Neither igniter is 14" long. You didn't mention which burner igniter you needed, but, these igniter part numbers are correct, for the model number you supplied. Thanks,

Sam, That connector is only available with the ignitor. There are numerous people who hardwire that connection also but you will need porcelain wire nuts.

Hello Luciano, We apologize for the misunderstanding caused by the manufacturers' mistake in the labeling of the bake and broil burners on this model. They somehow got the descriptions mixed up. The bake ignitor shown is being called the broil ignitor and the reverse is true for the broil ignitor. You do need 5304506545 for the bake ignitor on the model provided.

Frank, Unfortunately there is not a video for the broil igniter but is similar to the bake. You would remove the burner from the top of the oven and remove the igniter and install the new one then put the broil burner back in place.

William, If you decide to "extend the wires" make sure you use porcelain, hi temp wire nuts DE81-08428A / 83488, and perform the splice under the oven, inside the storage drawer area. The part ordered is a factory replacement part and shouldn't need any modifications, but you may want to consider the 316489403 / 316489403 Ignitor, burner, it has a 12 in. wire harness and would be more than adequate to install in the bake burner position.

Sydney for Model Number FFGF3021LWB

Whenever the oven re ignites to keep it the right temperature or after I turn it off, for a brief time I smell gas. What could be the cause? A repairman has been her 2 times since I bought this range in 2010, the first one replaced what I thought was the ignitor... the last one said there was nothing wrong, although I told him I smelled gas during the bake cycle whenever it re-ignited to keep it at the right temp... it is getting worse, today it smelled of gas after I turned the oven off...HELP!!!

Sydney, First check the bake burner tube, make sure all the venturi openings(holes) in the burner are clear and not clogged. If the range is being used on LP gas, check for proper pressure to the range and make any air shutter adjustments as needed. If the range is on NAT gas. check the pressure to the range and replace the safety valve if all's OK.

Hello Arthur, Remove the two screws at the rear of the bake compartment and remove the bake compartment floor. This will allow access to the ignitor. I normally remove the screw holding the burner in position, unplug the wiring to the ignitor and change the ignitor out on the burner outside of the bake compartment. Re-assembly is done in the reverse order.
