The Spark Module is an OEM part for Frigidaire gas ranges. It allows precise flame control for cooking. This module sends the necessary electrical currents to the igniters at each burner, which then spark to ignite the gas.

Causes of a bad spark module can include electrical failures, corrosion, or moisture damage, as well as wear and tear from normal use.

Symptoms of a bad Spark Module include:

  • Burners failing to ignite despite being turned on
  • Intermittent ignition or weak spark generation
  • Continuous clicking sounds from the burner area even after ignition
  • Unlit burners leading to gas smell, indicating incomplete combustion

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Spark Module (Part Number: OEM18093921)

Alex, as the electric oven and the gas cooktop of this unit are not heating or sparking respectively, the voltage supply to the range would need to be checked as the only thing in common between the sections would be the L2 voltage supply. If there is not 240VAC when testing the power cord terminal block from the red wire terminal to the black wire terminal, the breaker for the range may need to be checked to see if it has tripped.

The ignitors on all burners (and the stove) were not working, so I replaced the spark module, but the ignitors are still not working. Gas is coming out OK. What else could be the issue? Also, strangely, whenever it rains for an extended period of time, the ignitors stop working. They typically work again a day or two later, though this last time the ignitor/spark broke for good, which is why I thought the spark module replacement would fix it. The oven is not exposed to the rain, so I'm not sure if its getting into the gas line or somehow causing a short somewhere else that would cause this. How could this happen?

Alex, Based on the information provided I would suggest using a multimeter and checking the wiring and the ignitor switches from the spark module all the way to the ignitors.

Bill, Check to see if you can light with a open flame and if it will go out. If it does then it sounds like there may be an issue with the valve since there is a flame that comes on.

Hello Ken, at the cooktop spark module check for 120v at terminals L-N with a burner turned to light. If there is 120v there then replace the spark module part 5304505695. If there is no 120v then replace th ignitor switch assembly part 316219004.

Josh, The spark module for the unit would be located on the back of the unit just under the top. There will be a metal plate in the center that should have a screw that you remove and it should be attached to this plate. The part number for the spark module is 808608802.

Shawn, You will want to check to make sure that the burner heads are clean and that the igniters are not cracked in the porcelain. If they are good then the issue will be the spark module.

Over the years I have replaced my clock / timer board 3 times. Did some trouble shooting and disconnected and taped up the igniter wires and pulled them through the back of the stove and separated them as to not come in contact with each other. (Yes I unplugged the stove first!) I then plugged in the stove, and rotated one knob to light. I can hear a snapping noise like it is trying to light, and it sounds like it is coming from the spark module. Can this module have a short on the inside of the module causing my clock / timer board to fry? Thanks for your help. Spark module # AP4374595. Clock / timer # AP4512575. Thanks for your help. Jim
