The Spark Module is an OEM part for Frigidaire gas ranges. It allows precise flame control for cooking. This module sends the necessary electrical currents to the igniters at each burner, which then spark to ignite the gas.

Causes of a bad spark module can include electrical failures, corrosion, or moisture damage, as well as wear and tear from normal use.

Symptoms of a bad Spark Module include:

  • Burners failing to ignite despite being turned on
  • Intermittent ignition or weak spark generation
  • Continuous clicking sounds from the burner area even after ignition
  • Unlit burners leading to gas smell, indicating incomplete combustion

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Spark Module (Part Number: OEM18093921)

Mike, with all igniters inoperative, the most likely problem is the spark module 5304505695 as long as there's no broken or loose wires between the module and the igniter switches( not Likely) The madule is located on the back of the range. Here's some help. Always turn the house breaker or fuses to the off position, or unplug the unit from the wall outlet and cut off the manual gas valve line before working on the unit. Pull the unit out of its cutouts. Remove the 10 screws from the main back service panel. Remove the 4 screws holding the upper back panel in place. (2 on each side). Remove the one screw that holds the spark module to the service panel. Pull out the spark module out from under the cooktop. Unclip the module from the panel, install the new module, then switch the wires from the old to the new and reverse the procedure and check the burners for operation and ignition.

Ira for Model Number FRIGIDAIRE FGF379WJCA

I have replaced the module, which did not solve the problem The issue is that the top burners will not light. When any of the knobs are turned on, there is a clicking sound, but no spark except at the large, right front one. This happens even when the knobs for the other three are turned on. This spark is weak and occurs about a 1/4 inch below the the top of the ceramic/electrode. The ceramic on both of the front burners are cracked or even more seriously, damaged. Hope you can assist. Thanks

Hello Ira. If the ceramic is cracked, then it is grounding out and you will need to replace the burners that are cracked on the unit. To determine the part number, you need to order 2 5303935025 and 1 316010605. 316010605 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.

Hello Bill, If the ignitor 5303935066 is glowing, it should be practically white hot. Red and Orange isn't hot enough. You see, the ignitor has to heat up to the point that the resistance is high enough in the circuit to increase current flow to between 3.2 and 3.6 amps. This is the current flow required to open the gas valve. If the ignitor is doing this properly, the issue will have to be a defective safety valve 3203459.
