Chad D January 02, 2013 If my frigidaire washer won't turn when on wash and wont spin, what could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Chad. If the motor does not run in wash or spin, you will need to check and see if the lid switch is bad on the unit and needs to be replaced. Read More...
Paul September 25, 2012 for Model Number GLTR1670AS0 Front load washer. It makes a loud noise, of loud clicks and whining - continuously at spin cycle, with no spin and no draining. But the wash function seems fine. So if I have no spin cycle do I need a new motor? (it looks like in this model I have to replace the entire motor, the motor coupler is not sold seperately. Is this right?
1 Answer Hi Paul. Remove the back cover. Remove the belt. Hand spin the tub in both directions to see if there re any debris dragging the tub or if the rear bearing is shot. Hand spin the motor shaft and see if its bearings are shot part # 134869400. Remove the pump part # 137108000 inlet hose and see if any debris are inside the pump impeller. Replace the pump if the impeller is spinning loose on the pump shaft. It is common to find debris build up in the pump inlet hose and sump collector cup. Remove the cup and when it is clean, reinstall it in the 3rd top rib of the sump hose. Thank You. Read More...
Weldon H July 04, 2012 for Model Number GLTF1040AS0 The tub will not spin. I have replaced the pump, timer switch and the door locking switch. The tub will turn a 1/4 of a spin likes its going to start, but never does. What else could it be?
1 Answer Weldon, The next component to test or replace would be the speed control assembly 134149220. But first, make sure there aren't any loose wires or connections between the assembly and the motor, and the assembly and the timer. Thanks Read More...
Denise February 07, 2012 for Model Number 417.44142400 The drum started making horrible clunking noises during the rinse cycle and the clothes were soaking wet when the washer shut off. A Sears repairman and said the "bearing" was broken and replacing it would cost $700. Could this be right? I'm wondering if this is a motor issue or if I really do need to buy a new machine. Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Hello Denise. It does sound like the bearing is bad in the unit. In order to repair the problem, you will need to replace the rear outer tub assembly 131525500. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mys10s October 11, 2011 for Model Number FWT425RHS0 I just installed a new motor and the drum still doesn't spin. I can spin the drum freely by hand. When I set the control for spin the motor doesn't kick in at all. What else could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Mys10s. You will need to check and see if the speed controller is bad. If so, the motor will not run. Test and see if power is coming to the controller. If so, and no power is coming to the motor, you will need to replace the controller 134149220. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dan July 18, 2011 for Model Number LFW201EWO I just asked you a question about this washer, but with a little more ivestigating I found the motor does try to work on the spin cycles, but ever gets up to speed and then stops like a motor protector kicks out. The noise I hear is in the drain pump the hoses are soft, so I dont believe the pump is pluged. If the pump motor is acting up, could this make the main motor act like it is?
1 Answer Hello Dan. If the pump is bad, it can cause the motor not to work properly. You will need to remove the tub to pump hose and see if it is clogged. If it is clear and the pump is not pumping out the water in the tub, you will need to replace the drain pump 137108000. Hope this helps. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Dad. Test and see if there is power coming to the motor during wash and spin. If so, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor 134869400. Bill June 26, 2011 for Model Number GLTF1670AS0 Motor dosen't run properly. When it does I get 120V AC to ground. The motor will turn the drum slowly but will not spin.
1 Answer Hi. Bill. If when you remove the belt, check to see if the drum turns freely and the drum bearing is ok. If so then if you check the belt for any cracks or missing pieces, then the belt part # is 134051000. The motor part # is 134869400. Hope this helps. Thanks. Read More...
