Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Dishwasher Pump And Motor Assembly (Part Number: OEM15817152)

1 Answer

Marcus, You will want to open the pump and remove the volute cover and check to make sure that the check ball is not stuck and make sure that there is nothing caught down in the drain pump that would cause the unit to not circulate properly.

Roni, You will want to check the flapper on the drain and make sure that it is not stuck, damaged or missing. Also check to make sure that the drain hose goes to a point of at least 32" before going into the home drain supply.

Jerry, The first and easiest check would have been the water level in the bottom of the tub. Start the dishwasher, allow the machine to fill and wash for 5 minutes, unlatch the door, or cancel the cycle. Open the door and remove the lower rack. The water level in the center of the tub as close as possible to the spray arm, should measure 3/4 to 1 inch in depth. if not you don't have enough water in the dishwasher to circulate and pressurize the pump properly. You'll need to check or replace the fill valve 154569201 to solve that issue.

Jeff, If the unit is making a grinding noise and the drain is clear of debris and nothing is in the sump that would cause the unit to make this noise then the issue would be caused by a faulty motor 154844101.

Billy, With the unit not draining, you will want to make sure that the hoses and drain pump are not clogged. If these check ok then most likely the drain pump A00126401 would need to be replaced.

Jimmy D for Model Number FGHD2433KF1

Frigidaire dishwasher started leaking and ruined my kitchen floor. Shut down and saw water coming from bottom of motor housing. I read the various suggestions and ordered both the front and rear o-ring on the motor. I carefully cleaned and installed the motor housing back into place. Turned on water and it still leaks the same if not more then before. I traced the leak to the (4-5 cut vents) between the actual motor and internal impeller. I can only assume at this point the shaft seal is bad and the entire assembly needs replaced? Can you shed some light as there is no breakdown of the motor assembly itself so any troubleshooting from this end is limited. What do you suggest to check at this point? JImmy D

1 Answer

Jimmy, The shaft seal on the motor is not a separate replaceable part and you would need to replace the motor kit on the unit, part number 154844101.

David, The motor kit 154844101 does come with the O-rings and has a housing over the motor. Not aware of foam insulation over the motor.

Jim, If the unit is leaking around the recirculation pump and there is a whirring type noise then the issue would be a faulty pump in which you will want to replace. The part number for the motor kit is 154844101.
