Ron, No special tools are required. It is a bit more involved than most : Remove power to the range. To remove and replace the bake element remove the oven door and all interior oven racks. Remove the two screws that secure the convection fan cover to the rear of the oven wall and remove the cover. Remove the two screws at the rear corners of the oven bottom panel. Using your finger tips press down on the front edge of the oven bottom to cause it to lift upward in the rear of the oven cavity. Lift the rear of the oven bottom upward and slide it toward the rear oven wall to disengage the front edge from the chassis. Remove the oven bottom. Before removing the bake element disconnect the element wires which can be accessed by removing the lower rear shield screws and slide the element assembly forward far enough to disconnect the wire terminals. Reverse the procedure to replace the element and install the oven bottom panel.

Mike, " Removing Oven Bottom With the fan blade cover removed take out the two screws at the rear of the oven bottom panel. Lift the rear of the oven bottom up approximately 3 inches and slide the panel toward the rear of the range to disengage the front edge from the slot in the front frame. Lift the front edge of the panel above the edge of the front frame and remove the oven bottom panel. Remove the two screws securing the front of the bake burner baffle to the range chassis. Lift the front edge of the baffle high enough to clear the chassis and pull forward to disengage the rear tabs on the baffle from the slots in the oven liner. Remove the baffle from the oven cavity. With the baffle removed the bake burner and ignitor can be accessed for service. With the warmer drawer removed the wire harness plug connector for the ignitor can be disconnected. After the ignitor harness plug is disconnected, remove the two burner mounting screws and lift the burner assembly out of the range. The ignitor can now be separated from the bake burner assembly by removing the two ignitor mounting screws." Make sure you have the bake burner installed and aligned with the bake valve orifice when you reinstall the assembly. Good Luck

Laura, You need to remove power to the range(turn the breakers off) remove the oven door( it'll be easier to work with, remove all the oven racks. Loosen but don't remove the two bracket screws at the rear corners of the oven bottom panel. Carefully push the bottom panel back towards the rear wall approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch, then lift up on the front of the panel(you may need a putty knife or other flat bladed tool, and carefully remove the panel. Remove the two screws holding the bake element to the oven liner. Carefully Pull the element into the oven and disconnect the wires. Reverse the procedures, re establish the power to the range and check to oven for heat and operation. Dan, This unit has a hidden bake element in which you would pull the unit out and remove the rear cover. Once the cover is removed then you will locate the wiring for the element and disconnect. With the wire disconnected you will then remove the cover over the element 316505500, should be a thin strip of metal and lift the element out and install the new one.
