The Frigidaire Drain Pump is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It plays a crucial role in the washer's operation by removing water from the wash tub at the end of each cycle, ensuring your clothes are properly drained before the spin cycle.

Causes of a bad drain pump can include blockages from debris such as coins, lint, or small items that escape from clothing, as well as motor or impeller damage. Electrical failures can also impair pump function, leading to inadequate water removal.

Symptoms of a bad Frigidaire Drain Pump include:

  • Water not draining completely from the washer
  • Unusual noises, like humming or buzzing, indicating the pump is struggling
  • Washer stopping mid-cycle
  • Water pooling around the base of the machine

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Lee, You will want to check to make sure that there is no ice in the pump assembly and check to make sure that the pump is getting 120 vac to it. If there is power and the drain hoses from the tub to the pump and from the pump to the drain port are clear and the drain has no ice in it then the pump is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Manuela, The E20 error code indicates that the water is not pumping out fast enough. Check the drain hose for restrictions. If there is a restriction then correct. If no restriction then start the washer and check for 120 vac at the drain pump. If there is not 120 vac then replace the main control board. If there is 120vac then remove the pump and check it for blockage. If blocked then remove the restriction and if not then replace the pump.

John, With the E20 error code indicating that the water is not pumping out fast enough then you will want to double check the hoses for a restriction problem. Check the hose that goes from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump especially well as there is a check ball inside that something could be caught causing the unit to not drain fast enough.
