Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Washer Drain Pump (Part Number: OEM17054127)

1 Answer

Sonny, No, the drain pump 137221600 does not have an on/off switch to stop the motor from running or that would make noise. At this point, you either have an obstruction in the pump, or a worn out pump motor.

Hello Peggy, You want to check your pump and drain line to make sure that there is nothing clogging it. If something is clogging it then remove the clog and try to drain. You will want to remove as much water from the unit as possible to do this.

Hello, I would check the filter in the outer tub-to-pump hose. Debris tends to gather there and stops the water from draining. If it is clear, I would replace the drain pump 137221600.

Hello Derf, This is a siphoning situation. Make sure the standpipe is at least as high as the main top of the machine and it cannot be sealed with tape or anything. The machine has to get air from the top of the standpipe so the weight of the water going down the drain cannot pull, (siphon), the water from the machine.

Rich for Model Number Frigidaire Laundry Station - Washer , Dryer Combinatioin

My Frigidaire Washer fills, washes but won't drain and spin. I pulled both hoses from the pump and checked the pump (Part AP4359998). There wasn't anything clogging the pump. I checked it once before last year when I had a partial empty cycle and there was a hair tie blocking it but no luck this time. I can hear the control dial ticking but it just stops. Do you think its the pump or possibly something else? Thanks

Hello Rich. You need to check and see if the lid switch is bad on the unit and needs to be replaced on the unit.

Joe, remove power to the unit. Turn off the water to the unit. Remove the screws holding the bottom toe panel in place and remove the toe panel. From there you can access the drain pump. Remove the hoses to the drain pump, remove the screws holding the pump, and remove the wiring connected to the pump. Install the pump in reverse order. Hope this helps you, thanks!

Jason C for Model Number LTF2940ES2

My washing machine is not draining completely. The pump continues to run in attempt to finish draining but the drum never begins turning. When the pump runs, it sounds a bit like it is grinding something inside. I have removed the debris from the drain pump filter and checked the pump itself for clogs and reassembled. There were debris in the small filter, but the pump seemed to be clear of debris upon checking all ports and what i could see on the inside. Pump still does not seem to be operating at full capacity after reassembly and still does not initiate the motor to turn the drum. From the other posts this appears that it may be a bad (or failing) pump and requires replacement. I am not getting any error codes so I do not think that the door lock assembly is bad. Would this be due to bad pump? Or could the pressure switch connected to the drain assembly cause this as well? From what I have read, the pressure switch only controls the level of water coming in - not looking to see if the drum is empty.. Any advice is appreciated.
