Sabrina, This issue would be caused by a dead short in the unit or the house wiring somewhere. You will have to test all the wiring and inspect the wiring that can be seen to locate where the short is. It would be best to have a electrician check the home wiring to make sure that it is good and that it is not the source of the short.

Pat, The control board for this unit does not need to have a new wire harness installed. It may have been redesigned but should still connect the same.

Hello A.W., You need to use an ac voltage meter to test for voltage at the control. You should use neutral for the reference point. This will be terminal P1-11. This is where one meter lead will stay during all three tests. The three test points are P1-1, P1-4 and P1-8. The P1-4 test will show no voltage unless you close the fresh food door switch. If the voltages are there, replace the control 241739709. If the P1-4 doesn't have voltage with the door switch closed, replace the fresh food door switch 240505801.

John, Your ADC (adaptive defrost control) board 5303918476 is located in the "control box" on the left hand side of the control assembly, in the refrigerator control asembly. You'll need to remove the filter assembly and the control panel to access the control. Good Luck and Thanks

My side by side fridge will not get cold except at the bottom of the freezer. There was heavy 'snow' covering the lower back panel which I removed. My evaporator coils are iced over and the fan is not working. I removed the fan and plugged it into the wall and it works. The light switch seems to function normally. The icemaker will not attempt to make ice and the tray is dry although water is at the dispenser. Can you tell me where the defrost timer is on this model? I don't see anything behind the kick panel.

Hi John. You are experiencing a normal defrost failure. The defrost circuit power comes from the Adc board part # 5303918476. It will send the 120 vac to the defrost thermostat which closes at 14° or colder, it is part # 5303918214. If it remains open (very common failure) then the defrost heater part # 5303918255 cannot get the power to defrost the coils every 6-1/2 hrs approx. for 25 minutes. Thank You.

Hi Tony. Are you able to select the light on and off correctly as a simple indication that the control board is getting proper 120 vac from the connector at the top fzr. door hing area ? If not start there and inspect the molex connector individual pins as it is common the connections can be "miss-pinned" or burnt open. Make necessary corrections there if so by re pinning or just using butt splice with a wire to jump out the bad connection. Make sure there are no exposed wires so they do not short out. You can find the wiring diagram in with the controls in the fresh food area or folded in the front grill. Can you select the fountain control selections every time without fail ? Are they smooth and effortless as like when you first bought it ? If it is a difficult effort then the Fountain switch board is part # 241708306. Most likely ten it is not able to send the command selected to the board behind it called the Fountain control board which sends the actual voltage to the auger motor or to the or to the water valve to replenish the water tank as fast as the water is being used. Thank You.

Mark, You most likely have an issue with the fill valve 242252702 or a water presure problem. Your temperature control assembly would have little to nothing to do with the dispenser issues. Thanks and Good Luck

Kurt for Model Number GLH S35 EH S84

My frigidare stop cooling freezer and refrig side and had a problem code blinking (4) on the Ti indicator controller. It's a side by side refrigerator Things I done so far: 1) I changed the thermister for the freezer coils, but that didn't help 2) I changed the control (beta 1 ) dual thermastat and or timer part number 241739701. This fixed the problem for one week, everything worked perfect but this morning I have the blinking (4) with a audible alarm. But so far the frig and freezer seem to be cooling as normal. We do have another problem that might be the root cause of all this: The water filter is located just right of the controller / temp indication and card ( part that was last changed out ) this filter or fittings was leaking very bad and it's possible that water or moisture got into the board of the controller. The controller is sealed and you would think it couldn't get wet but maybe it did???? Anyway what you think about this so far and I'm pretty sure the box will stop cooling soon. I did unplug and plug it back up hoping it would reset but still had the same problem. Kurt

Hello Kurt. If the control 241739709 got wet, you will need to replace the control. This could be the problem your having with the unit. Hope this helps.
