The Regulator is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges and cooktops. It's designed to maintain a safe and consistent gas flow to the burners, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency during cooking. This regulator adjusts the pressure of the gas coming from your home's supply line to match the requirements of the appliance, allowing for precise temperature control and reliable operation.

Causes of a bad regulator can include general wear and tear over time, exposure to high temperatures or cleaning chemicals that degrade its components, or a malfunction within the regulator itself, such as a stuck valve or broken diaphragm.

Symptoms of a bad Regulator include:

  • Inconsistent flame size or color
  • Burners not lighting
  • A noticeable gas smell when the cooktop or range is on
  • Weak or uneven heating performance

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Regulator (Part Number: OEM20968713)

Aja for Model Number glgf366abd

My top burners light and my broiler lights but the oven will not light. I see the glow but no ignition. Also we have to shut off the gas line coming into the oven when we are not using the burners or else we can smell leaking propane. It stinks constantly like Propane if we don't shut of the gas line. No bubbles at the connection. And the smell build up is definitely coming from inside the oven even when we are not using it, well duh cuz i can't use out, hence the question.....

Hello Frank, This can be the regulator 5304521339 but I would check the gas pressure first since it can be the gas supply pressure giving the problem.

Hello Brion. You need to repair the issue as soon as possible. It is either the regulator or a bad gas valve on the unit.

Hello Terry. No, it is not safe to adjust the flames. They should be blue to burn and cook clean. If they are to low, it could be to a faulty regulator or low gas supply to the unit.

Hello Joe. You need to check and see if the regulator is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. If gas comes to it, but not out, replace the regulator.

Hello Phil, They are not the same! Otherwise the appliance would be rated and certified for use with both fuels! They have different BTU values and require different volumes of air for complete combustion. To convert appliances, you MUST get conversion kits from the original manufacturer. They will give you a new rating plate which is their proof that the appliance is "certified" for use with that fuel. If you "Mcgyver" the appliance and try and convert it by just changing or drilling orifices etc, you will void the manufacturer's warranty. Also, the manufacturer will take no responsibility if the appliance hurts anyone or property is damaged because you have "altered" the appliance. Insurance companies will deny claims for the same reason. On the appliance's rating plate you will find the model and serial number along with the manufacturer's contact information. Typically getting a conversion kit for natural gas to propane, or propane to natural gas is not too difficult. Butane may be a different story. You might end up having to replace the appliances altogether. Give them a call though. If they offer one and don't sell you one directly, they should be able to put you in touch with a dealer in your area who can. Once you have the factory conversion kit installed by a qualified technician you are good to go!

Brad, Make sure that the orifice is in place properly but if still leaking then then yes the regulator would be bad.

Hello Phil. No, you need to check and make sure you have the flow going toward the arrow on the regulator and the gas is turned on on the unit.
