The Regulator is an OEM part for Frigidaire ranges and cooktops. It's designed to maintain a safe and consistent gas flow to the burners, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency during cooking. This regulator adjusts the pressure of the gas coming from your home's supply line to match the requirements of the appliance, allowing for precise temperature control and reliable operation.

Causes of a bad regulator can include general wear and tear over time, exposure to high temperatures or cleaning chemicals that degrade its components, or a malfunction within the regulator itself, such as a stuck valve or broken diaphragm.

Symptoms of a bad Regulator include:

  • Inconsistent flame size or color
  • Burners not lighting
  • A noticeable gas smell when the cooktop or range is on
  • Weak or uneven heating performance

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Hello Lee, The pressure regulator part number is 5308007974. Since the model number you provided is not complete and a bit inaccurate, I looked up all of the possibilities and all of these similar models use this same pressure regulator. If you need a use and care manual, you can download it free at Whirlpool.com with the complete model number.

Hello Jeri, There are two ways used to control the temperature inside the bake compartment. One is with a standard thermostat with the copper tube leading to the bulb inside the bake compartment. The other way is with a temperature sensor and an electronic control board. It is impossible to say which one your unit uses or the part numbers of the parts without the model number. If you go to our website and look at the orange box you click on to "search" for your part or model, just to the right of it you will see the statement, "Help Me Find My Model Number", this will show you where to look to find the model number I.D. tag.

Hi. We need the model # as you supplied the serial # . Looking at a Frigidaire Gas Range Service Manual here's what I found. After the Wall gas valve you can use a 4 or 5' Flexible 1/2" NPT x 3/4" or 1/2" I.D. Always use the 2 new flare union adapters (1/2"NPT x 3/4 " or 1/2" I.D.) supplied with the new flexible appliance conduit for connection of the range. Having said all this give the regulator input connection size. You need the exact pressure regulator and safety valve for your model. Thank You.

Hello Ken. Remove the safety valve from the regulator and see if gas comes through. If not, replace the regulator on the unit. Make sure you turn off the gas before removing the valve and make sure you turn on gas to test and then turn the gas back off to prevent it from leaking into the room.

Hello Stan, Most of the time when a "whoosh" is heard when lighting, the gas valve WPW10293048 is sticking and in need of replacement. The other cause I have seen is oxidation in the burner WP8054078. This is commonly explained away by the engineers as a "spider web" in the burner. Either way, there is no way to clean the inside of the burner, so replacement is the only option in this instance.

Hello Dave. It could be a bad regulator 5304521339. Make sure there is good gas pressure coming to the unit. If so, and the valve is good, you will need to replace the regulator in the unit.

Hello Doug, This is most probably caused by an incorrect air shutter adjustment. This is kind of like adjusting the air/fuel mixture on a car. The burn determines the exhaust content.
