The Replacement Icemaker is an OEM part for Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators. It serves the critical function of automatically producing batches of ice cubes on demand. Note: The Icemaker Kit comes with an adaptor harness that may be needed for some applications. The harness converts a 4 pin connector to a 3 pin connector.

Causes of a malfunctioning icemaker can vary. They may stem from failed control sensors affecting conductivity and freeze times, scaled or corroded water lines, or an ice basket mold with broken fins and louvers.
Symptoms of a bad icemaker include:

  • Reduced or inconsistent ice production
  • Ice cubes getting jammed or fused together
  • Water leaks or spray inside the freezer
  • Strange sounds or mechanisms not working

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

For Frigidaire Replacement Icemaker (Part Number: OEM9481800)

Bob P for Model Number RFS26ZSH

HELLO. YOUR WEBSITE OFFERS A REPLACEMENT ICE MAKER WHICH I ORDERED, MY CONCERN IS WILL IT WORK OF MY MODEL? I HAVE OCCASIONALLY HAD TO CLEAR THE FLOW TUBE INTO THE FRIDGE, THE WATER I CAN HEAR GOING IN BUT IT ONLY IS MAKING 20% OF WHAT IT DID. THE ICE ONLY DUMPS ONCE IN AWHILE, THE CUBES ARE THE SAME SIZE AS BEFORE. IF I NEED A NEW VALVE ALSO DO YOU HAVE MINE? LAST QUESTION DOES THE ICE MAKER CALL FOR WATER FROM THE VALVE OR IS IT ALL TIMED? THANK YOU, BOB P. the order #34733446

Bob, You didn't supply a proper or complete model number, so it is a bit difficult verifying the parts you need. The 5303918277 will fit and operate in most versions of the FRS26ZSH side by side refrigerators. Based on the post information, you may want to start by replacing the fill valve. The ice in the fill tube, and an extended time to produce ice cubes, could be due to a faulty fill valve. You should seriously consider both parts. Heat release ice makers do have a time limit(usually 7 to 10 seconds) to fill the ice maker mold with 4 to 4.5 oz. of water. This occurs at the end of the ice maker cycle at the 11 to 1 O'clock position.

I just hooked up the ice maker on a 8 year old fridgidaire that the ice maker had not been used for about a year. It will make ice very slowly. When the cubes are frozen it seems they lay on top of the ice maker for an extended time before ejecting. It only dumps ice about four times in 24 hrs. Also, what is the adjustment screw on the front for that has a neg. and pos. marking on it. The temp. is 0 deg. and the water line is not frozen. The ice maker worked fine when used previously. Thanks for your help. Steve

Steve, If you have a filter in your unit, you will want to make sure that the filter is good. It may be that there is not enough water getting into the icemaker which would cause the icemaker to make smaller cubes and to cause it to take longer to make the cubes. If water checks ok then the thermostat on the icemaker would be the problem which would require a new icemaker. The adjustment screw if for more or less water.

I have received the part removed the old one and inserted the new one, it would not work, seemed like water was not going thru.? the Original problem was when the ice was ready to dump into box it would dump two cubes I would have to manually remove them in order for the ice maker to continue to work. So I thought I'll try to replace the ice maker to see of the works. I know the part is correct but maybe there is some adjustment that need to be done in order for it to work? or is the ice maker defective?

Katina, The first thing that you always want to make sure of is that the water filter is good on the unit. The next thing that you want to check is to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then it will need to be cleared and you would want to replace the water valve due to seeping, which means a little water is trickling through the valve and flash freezing in the tube.

Angel, You will want to pull the icemaker out and see if the fill tube is frozen. If frozen you will need to clear the ice and replace water valve. If the tube is clear you will have to cycle the icemaker and do a voltage test on the water valve. Check to see if you have 120 vac to the water valve when the unit calls for water. If you do and no water goes through then you need a new water valve and if there is no power then you would need a new icemaker.

Darrell, When you pull the icemaker out there is a tube coming in from the back of the unit that fills the icemaker. Check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. Also check the icemaker to make sure that the pins in the center of the large gear are not broken. If fill tube is frozen then you will want to replace the water valve which is located on the back of the unit behind the panel on the back. If the gear is broken then you would need to replace the ice module.

Hello John. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Anthony, To advance this icemaker you will pull the front cover off and useing a small flat blade screwdriver turn the small wheel counter clockwise. Once it has be turned a little the unit should continue on its own.

Hello Cattle, The water valve is the most likely cause but it could possibly have stuck contacts in the icemaker control head. You could disconnect water valve harness and check to see if the water stops. If it does not then you would need to replace the valve.
