The Replacement Icemaker is an OEM part for Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators. It serves the critical function of automatically producing batches of ice cubes on demand. Note: The Icemaker Kit comes with an adaptor harness that may be needed for some applications. The harness converts a 4 pin connector to a 3 pin connector.

Causes of a malfunctioning icemaker can vary. They may stem from failed control sensors affecting conductivity and freeze times, scaled or corroded water lines, or an ice basket mold with broken fins and louvers.
Symptoms of a bad icemaker include:

  • Reduced or inconsistent ice production
  • Ice cubes getting jammed or fused together
  • Water leaks or spray inside the freezer
  • Strange sounds or mechanisms not working

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

For Frigidaire Replacement Icemaker (Part Number: OEM9481800)

Tommy for Model Number FRS26HF6BW2

Icemaker quit harvesting ice. It would get water and freeze but wouldn't harvest. I could force the harvesting arm to start and it would go on it's on until it hit the ice and then stop and couldn't eject the ice. I put a new ice maker in and it is doing the same thing. I have read that the thermostat in the ice maker won't activate the heater for the mold and cause it to harvest if the internal temp of the freezer isn't low enough, is this correct. If so what does the internal temp need to be.

Hello Tommy. Yes, the temperature needs to be between 0 and 5° to cycle properly.

Sam, You will want to check at the water valve to make sure that there is power getting to the water valve when the unit calls for water. If there is 120 vac when the icemaker calls for water then the issue will be in the water valve which would need to be replaced. If there is no power then the icmaker would need to be replaced.

Dave, You will want to make sure that the icemaker is cycling when you test the voltage at the valve. Also pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then you will want to replace the water valve due to seeping. If there is no voltage getting to the valve then you will want to replace the icemaker.

trying to replace the ice maker. by issue is with the wiring harness on the replacements i've purchased (and had to return). the connector at the end of the harness is flat, 4 wires side by side. the recieving connector in the freezer is square. so while the the color of the wires are all the same, there's no way to plug a flat connector into a square one. before i spend the money on this unit, can someone confirm that the end of the adapter harness is square? i can't tell from the picture.
