I have had repeated problems with lower arm AP3889833 falling off during wash cycle & burning thru on the heat element. I need detailed instruction on how to install the support AP3775118 as I believe there is a certain trick to it. I also now believe it was done incorrectly in a past episode so now I am going to order a new support because it looks damaged on the inside grooves. I just don't want to install the new one incorrectly. The other component is the trap, part 154252702. I thought there was a video instructing on this but can only find one for the arm, not for the support. Thank you.

D. Smith, The video for the lower spray arm removal 5304517203 is pretty much on the money, you'll need a flatblade screwdriver to insert it between the retainer tabs on the arm and the groove in the spray arm support, lift up on the arm and remove it. The Glass trap 5304532206 is just a matter of grasping the trap by the handle, lift it up, at a slight angle and out from under/around the spray arm support " Grab glass trap by handle and pull out from the sump area." The spray arm support 5304532235 is a "twist and lock" fitting " Turn lower spray arm support counter-clockwise until retaining tabs are free of the inlet tube. Remove lower spray arm support from unit" Once you have things removed, you'll want to check and make sure the retainer tracks and grooves aren't damaged or worn out, then reverse the procedure and test the dishwasher operation.

Dishes in the lower rack are not getting clean. When I tested a rinse cycle and opened the door quickly to see what the lower arm is doing, I could see that the blue sprayer part is working fine, but the whole arm isn't rotating. I've cleaned out all the filters, but no go. Looking at part #62 in your list, the support for the arm, I can see that it appears to have worn down spots in the grooves where the arm sits (almost looks like little melted or stress spots at the end of the brackets.) Do you think this is my problem? I'd like to try replacing it, but don't know if I'm on the right track.

Saffron, You will want to get down into the pump and make sure that there is nothing clogging the pump. If there is then this can cause the spray arm to not turn. If it checks ok then it sounds more likely that the spray arm itself may be bad if there are grooves on the bottom of it.

Hello Jac. Yes, when you install the lower spray arm and the support 5304532235, make sure when you install the glass trap 154252701, that the trap is turned and locked into place. You will need to install the parts, and then twist the trap to lock it into place. Hope this helps.
