Hello charlie b. If you look on the old switch, you will see markings on the spades and these should match the new switch but may not be in the same location on the unit. Match L1 to L1 and L2 to L2 ect.... This should not be hard to replace on the unit.

Al, You will want to check the control board if the elements checked ok. To check the control board you will want to access the back of the control panel by pulling the unit out and removing the cover. With the unit turned to bake, check from L1 to bake for 240 vac. If there is proper voltage then you will need to replace the control board. If there is not then you will need to find where you are loosing power.

Hello Dennis, You will want to check to see if you are getting power from the clock assembly to the element. You should have 240vac from L1 to bake. If you do not have this voltage then you have a bad clock which would need to be replaced.

Cheryl, None of the repairs you need to make are very difficult, you should be able to handle it easily. Just remember to turn the power off to the range before you start. You will need a "crimping tool" and wire cutters to replace the terminals (clips) that were damaged. These tools and terminals are available at your local hardware, automotive supply or home improvement center. and applying electrical tape to the damaged wire is an "authorized" repair.

David, The infinite switch repalcement is a simple process "To remove the infinite switches: Infinite switches are used for the surface elements, warm and serve zone, and the warming drawer (if equipped). 1. Disconnect power from the range. 2. Remove the back panel from the backguard. 3. Mark and disconnect the wires from the infinite switch. 4. Remove the knob by pulling straight off. 5. Remove the two phillips-head screws holding the switch to the control panel. 6. Pull the switch from the back of the range." If you need to replace the element, it's a bit more involved. " 1. Disconnect power from the range. 2. Open the oven door and remove the two phillips screws holding the main top to the front frame and raise the main top. 3. Tag and disconnect wires from the element to be removed. 4. Remove the two screws, one on each end, of the element support bar. 5. The element is held to the support bar by 2 spring load clips. With a pair of needlenose pliers squeeze the tab on the spring mounting clip and push the element away from the bar. 6. The clips are held to the element by screws. When replacing the element be sure to note the hole number that the clip is attach to the old element." Thanks

Jason D for Model Number Fefb79gba

Sorry about that I have 230 v off of terminal p1 and and the same off terminal 2 and when I check the 2 terminals on the element it reads 230v by reading these schematics that came with the oven it shows 3 connections to the front right burner but there are 2 different hookups on the element itself. 1 terminal has 2 connections and the other has 3 connections. When checking the one with 2 connections it reads 230v and when checking the one with 3 it shows the same. So I am guessing if I get 230v to the element the element will be bad and not the switch correct? Thank you for your help!

Hi Jason. Thank you for all the info. Remove the power and remove the burner. Look at the ribbon - element and see if there is not an opening burnt open. The dual element is part # 316555800. Thank you.
