This water level pressure switch senses tub water level through an air hose and signals the control when to stop filling and allow spin. Replacing a failed switch restores proper fill levels and reliable cycle progression. What it does:

  • Monitors water level via air pressure from the tub's air dome hose
  • Signals the control to start/stop filling at the correct level
  • Prevents overfilling and enables spin only when the tub is empty
  • Common symptoms: overfills or underfills, won't fill, keeps filling, won't advance or won't spin
What's included:
  • Pressure switch
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and water supply before servicing
  • Access the switch (typically under the top or rear panel) and release its mounting clip/screws
  • Transfer wires one at a time; move the air hose to the new switch and ensure a tight, unobstructed connection
  • Secure the switch and run a test fill/spin; inspect the air hose for kinks, cracks, or soap residue

Dac, A couple of things to check first. Remove power, remove the fill hoses and check the fill hose screens and valve screens for sediment, and debris, a slow fill can cause a fill error code. Check to make sure the drain hose is installed properly and has enough air at the top of the drain pipe to keep the machine from syphoning. Access and disconnedct the air tube from the pressure switch, blow in the end of the tube, this will usually clear any blockage in the tube. If the problem persists, then replace the pressure switch.

Steven for Model Number LTF2940ES0

My washer will not work in any cycle. I have checked the valve (only 6 mths old) and the solenoids are good. I checked power to them in both cold and hot cycles and niether of them are getting power. I have checked everywhere for clogs or kinked lines and all are clear. I removed the pressure switch and blew in the tube and didn't hear it activate and it did not show power on my multimeter. Am I accruate in saying it is my pressure switch that is bad?

Hello Kevin, You should check the outer tub where the drain line leaves to the pump and the drain hose for any obstructions. If clear, the control could be an issue but I would run the diagnostics as described on the tech sheet before replacing any parts.
