This water level pressure switch senses tub water level through an air hose and signals the control when to stop filling and allow spin. Replacing a failed switch restores proper fill levels and reliable cycle progression. What it does:

  • Monitors water level via air pressure from the tub's air dome hose
  • Signals the control to start/stop filling at the correct level
  • Prevents overfilling and enables spin only when the tub is empty
  • Common symptoms: overfills or underfills, won't fill, keeps filling, won't advance or won't spin
What's included:
  • Pressure switch
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and water supply before servicing
  • Access the switch (typically under the top or rear panel) and release its mounting clip/screws
  • Transfer wires one at a time; move the air hose to the new switch and ensure a tight, unobstructed connection
  • Secure the switch and run a test fill/spin; inspect the air hose for kinks, cracks, or soap residue

Ashley, The part number for the pressure switch for your washer is 134762000 (Control Panel heading, part #17) You also want to check or replace the air tube/hose 137089000 . We take for granted you've already check for plenty of water pressure and flow at the faucets, and checked and cleaned the debris screens in the end of the fill hoses and inside the water valve connection.

John for Model Number GLTF2940FS2

Washer when started makes a humming sound but no water. It will then start to tumble, stop, tumble, ect, but no water. This seems normal except for the fact there is no water. The humming seems louder than normal I assume thats because there is no water. There is water getting to the machine and the screen at inlet seems to not have any debris. Any thoughts. Company suggested pressure switch or control panel. Dont know how to determine which one, or if either one is the problem. Thanks.
