Mike June 25, 2011 for Model Number Gibson GSE746RFS3 Dryer heats fine, and timer functions property in timer mode. In auto cycle mode, the dryer heats fine but the timer does not move. Dryer vent has been thoroughly cleaned. Do I have a defective thermostat, timer, or thermal limiter? Something else?
1 Answer Mike, Have you run the dryer on an auto dry cycle with the vent disconnected ? The timer is the least likeliest issue at this time. The timer advances based on a proper temperature. You could have a bad regulating thermostat, damaged wire from the timer down to the thermostat, or a weak hi limit thermostat, if you've had a clogged vent for an extended period.
