The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. This part controls the flow of hot and cold water into the washer's tub, ensuring the correct temperature mix for various wash cycles. By opening and closing at the command of the washer's control system, it plays a pivotal role in the machine's ability to execute programmed wash cycles with precision, affecting everything from the initial fill to the rinse phases.

Causes for the replacement of the water inlet valve can range from mineral deposits and sediment build-up, which can obstruct the valve's flow, to mechanical wear and electrical failures affecting the valve's operation.

Symptoms of a malfunctioning Water Inlet Valve include:

  • The washer not filling with water
  • Water entering the machine slowly
  • The washer filling with the wrong water temperature

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Hello Leah! No special tools are needed. There are screws in the back of the washer to hold the top panel on. Remove those screws and slide the top panel off. Once the panel is removed you'll have access to the valve to remove and replace. Hope this information helps you, thanks!

Kathleen, If you are referring to the black washers that are on the end of the valve where the water line attaches to the valve then these washer come with the hoses and not the valve itself. They should be seated in the hose where it connects to the valve.
