The 2 In 3 Out Water Valve is an OEM replacement part for GE washing machines. It is located within the water supply system to help regulate water flow into the washer tub. 

Causes of failure can include obstruction or clogging from mineral deposits over time. Valve components may also wear out with extended usage.

Symptoms of a faulty water valve include:

  • Extended or interrupted cycle times 
  • Fluctuations in water levels inside the tub
  • Weak water pressure levels for filling and rinsing

Norma, multiple things can cause this issue. The best way to identify which component failed is by entering the unit into a diagnostic mode which will show you particular error codes. The error code will help to identify specifically why the unit is failing. If the diagnostics do not show an error code, then your main control board is the most likely part that has failed.

Hello Tom. Check the screens and see if they are clogged. If they are clear, and the valve does not fill, you will need to order and replace the water valve on the unit.

Gabriel, To test the water valve coils you will disconnect the wires to the solenoid and do a resistance reading. The resistance should be 1000 to 1250 ohms at room temperature of 77 degrees. If outside this range then the coils are faulty and would need to be replaced.

Sabino, The water valve should have equal water pressure. One will not be more forceful than the other. Check to make sure that the screens on the valve are not clogged as this may be the issue.
