Emily March 24, 2017 for Model Number GSS25SGMBBS My freezer is not staying cold enough, but the fridge is fine. I've been going through the fixes and ordered a new relay. I didn't have any issue removing the old one and connecting the wires to the new one, but when I try to put the plug in, I can't get it to go. It is like the holes on the relay are slightly smaller than the prongs. I double checked the part number. Any tips on how to get it connected?
1 Answer Emily, You will want to just push the relay on. It will be a tight fit by design and you may have to rock it a little. Read More...
Darlene December 12, 2016 for Model Number GSH25JFRFCC I replaced the main board and refrigerator is not working only lights work. You already sent me a second replacement board thinking the first one was bad. My original board had a clicking noise which I researched and was suggested needs to be replaced. The second new board had a humming sound and the third board has a chirping sound. Any suggestions. Thanks
1 Answer Darlene, If this control board is making a chirping noise then it sounds like this would be a bad board. It is rare to get a bad board in but it can happen. Read More...

Lance August 03, 2016 for Model Number GSS20IEPJWW Hello, I just installed a new overload / relay (WR09X10107) and capacitor (WR62X79). Placed the wires into the correct terminals (black into gold, orange into silver). This particular fridge has not seen cold air for about 7 - 8 yrs., per the owner. How long should this fridge take to get cold, considering such a long time being off?
1 Answer Lance, The unit should be get to temperatures within 24 hours. If it is not then check the evaporator coils to see if there is any frost pattern. If there is not then the issue will most likely be a sealed system leak if the compressor is running. Read More...
Samuel August 02, 2016 for Model Number GSHF5KGXBCCC I just got the replacement part WR09X10107 for my GE GSHF5KGXCCBB. The wiring connection slots are different from WR08X10068. I have 2 wires, one with 2 red wires fused, and the other is black. Please help me locate the correct slots for the 2 wires. Thank you so much!
1 Answer Hello Samuel. According to the diagram, black goes to the gold terminal of the relay and orange goes to the silver. Read More...
Neil March 02, 2016 for Model Number GSH22JSTASS I am replacing two-part overload and relay Starter with WR09X10107 which is one-part. My old Relay Starter is also connected to capacitor. Do I need to disconnect the capacitor (pull the connectors off of capacitor)?
1 Answer Hello Neil, The capacitor must be used when used with the old start relay. The capacitor will actually clip onto the new start device. The plastic pin on the new start device goes into the hole on the side of the capacitor and the metal connectors will fit into the slots at the edge of the new start device. Read More...

Roscoe February 24, 2015 for Model Number GTS18KBPARWW I just replaced the relay overload switch (2 original parts) replaced with 1 part. There is one left over white wire that was opposite the orange wire. There's no where to plug in the white wire. What do I do? The refrigerator is back on and running. The freezer is starting to cool. Thanks, Roscoe
1 Answer Roscoe, The previous overload relay had a capacitor that was not attached to it and the white wire will go to that capacitor. With the way that the new part is designed, the capacitor would normally plug into the overload relay. If it is not then you can just put electrical tape around the terminal on the white wire and will not be needed. Read More...
Daniel May 11, 2014 for Model Number GLM23QETA GS VL408417 GE Side by Side Electricity went out for several hours. When it came back on the fridge had power (lights inside worked) but no power to digital thermostat (no led light) and would not cool at all. I disassembled the back panels to access the mainboard and compressor fan area. After cleaning everything and checking connections I plugged it in and it started. A few days later the electric went out again for an hour or so and the fridge would not start as described above. I took a hair dryer and turned it on hot air first on the motor compressor area, nothing, then I slowly heated the mainboard and it clicked and started cooling normally again. What do I have to replace to fix it? 1 Mainboard (or replace the relay) 2 Run Capacitor 3 Overload/Start Relay 4 Other
1 Answer Hello Daniel. You will need to order and replace the main control board to repair the unit. Read More...
