Gwen, You will want to check to make sure that the belt is not broken. If the belt breaks the unit will not run. Also check the rotation of the tub to ensure that it spins when turning by hand. Check the bearing to make sure that it is not bad. You may have a sieze bearing.

Hello Charlene, When the belt starts slipping it is because something in the unit is opposing the turning of the drum. This is either the idler pulley WE12X83, the rear bearing kit WE25M40, or the front slides WE03X37318 two of these, and WE03X37317 two of these. The front drum bearing support WE3M26 may require replacement if the clips that hold the slides in place are worn off. The belt WE03X29897 will only require replacement if the unit is run too long with the opposition to the drum rotation occurring. As a note. the two green slides go to the middle and the white ones go on either side of the two green ones. These part numbers are for model number DCXR463GA1WW. The model number you had listed came up as invalid.

The dryer is making squeaking noise. My wife and I debated the characteristics of a squeak and squeal and it is definitely a squeak. I don't think it is a slipping belt. Sounds more like a metal on metal. The dryer was taken completely apart to thoroughly clean. The same problem after putting back together. The squeak only happens during part of a load. Definitely more frequent and intense at the end of the drying cycle. The size of the load does not seem to matter. are there places that can be lubricated without getting it on the clothes?

Ken, In your style dryer, there are a couple of possibilities, The most likely being the rear drum bearing WE25M40 . the other is the idler pulley WE12X83, but that is more of a "squealing" type noise, that turns into a rumble.

Hello Carla. Something is either jammed inside the tub, or something is stuck inside the blower wheel. You will need to look and clear out what ever has the drum stuck.

Hello Carla. Make sure the drum is not tight inside the unit. If not, you can check and see if the belt is broke. If the belt is good, you will need to order and replace the motor in the unit.

Hello Miki, The squealing is the belt slipping. The noise is caused by the drum putting up opposition to turning. You will either need the rear drum bearing kit WE25M40, the front bearing WE3M26 and glides WE03X37318, idler puller WE12X83and, because of the wear on the belt WE03X29897 because of the slippage, you might consider changing it, too.

Hello David, The belt in a dryer will normally not stretch. If it stretches, it is about to break. There are strings made into the belt to prevent stretching. If the belt is slipping, it is doing so because something inside the unit is opposing the turning of the drum. This will be the idler pulley WE12X83, the glides (WE03X37317 X 2),(WE03X37318 X 2),and front bearing assembly WE3M26, or the rear drum bearing assembly WE25M40.
