Gypsy J. May 30, 2016 for Model Number GSL25IGREBS Motherboard was clicking and compressor not running so I replaced the motherboard. Now everything runs except compressor. Tried a new start relay and overload, checked the thermistors and they checked out good. Don't know what else to look at. Any suggestions would be helpful.
1 Answer Hello Gypsy, If voltage is being sent to the compressor you probably have a bad start relay WR07X10084. If not, the new board WR55X10942C has an issue. Read More...
Barb May 23, 2016 for Model Number PSS26MSWCSS My unit takes fits and runs until it reaches -9. Most of the time I unplug it and allow it to warm up past the pre- set temperature, plug it in and it reaches the desired temp and stays there. Seems as if when you press the selection buttons for water, cubed or crushed ice or shut the door hard is when it does it most often. What can be causing this problem?
1 Answer Barb, You will want to check the temperature sensors in the unit to make sure that they are good. The resistance should be about 5K ohms at room temperature. If these test ok then the main control would be the main control board. Read More...
Mark May 18, 2016 for Model Number GSS25KGMCBB The unit freezes on the freezer side just fine but the refridge side freezes all our food. have it set on freezer 1 and cool side on 1 it still freezes everthing.
1 Answer Hello Mark. You will need to check and see if the damper assembly is bad and needs to be replaced. Check and see if the door is broke on the damper. Read More...
Juan C. May 14, 2016 for Model Number gss25jeta ww It doesn't do anything. You can only turn on the light.
1 Answer Hello Juan, The main board WR55X10942C is most likely experiencing failure if the lights are all that will work. Be sure to check the wiring harness at the door hinge. Read More...
Claude May 05, 2016 whirlpool Mod. GS6HAXKB01 What is the part # for the electronic defrost control board.
Brian April 30, 2016 for Model Number Gss22jetc Freezer keeps running. Seal is good. Bottom and back is clean. Everything in freezer is solid. Door light does work. Been running for 24 hours now. I did unplug and plug back in (control alt delete. Haha). Any ideas?
1 Answer Brian, With the unit running constantly you will want to check the evaporator coils in the freezer behind the wall inside the unit. If the coils are impacted with ice It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bob K April 21, 2016 for Model Number gsl251frf-bs My G.E Side By Side is acting up. The freezer temp is good at approx 0 degrees and the frig side is good for awhile but after about 2 weeks it will start to get warm on the frig side so I am sure the coils are freezing over, because if I unplug it for a couple days it will run fine but some times it seems to run a lot and sometimes I have to manually open the small trap door so that the frig side will get cold ( not often but I do once in awhile. ) and some times to get it to stop running I have to turn the freezer selector to 0 the back to 3 and it stops running. I live in an area where we occasionally have power outages / surges and a couple years back I had to replace the circuit board because it was doing all kinds of crazy things like the ice dispenser wouldn't drop the ice and the light on the front of it would dim. would the circuit board cause my issues I am currently having? And if so is there anything I can do to protect the new circuit board from this happening again. Thanks for your time.
1 Answer Bob, If the damper is not opening and closing and the unit is not going through defrost then it does sound like the control board would be the issue. The only way to protect the unit from surges would be to add a single plug surge protector behind the unit. This will help with surge issues. Read More...
Dave G April 13, 2016 for Model Number GSS25PGMBWW I have frost on top of the ice dispensing shut in the freezers door. I have replaced the flap door on the ice dispenser but we still have a build up of frost at the top of the ice dispensing shut. Fan is running in the freezer. Could it be the mother board?
1 Answer Hello Dave, You will need to order WR62X10055 for the solenoid needed to aid in the flap closing. Also, make sure the spring is good. Read More...
