For Ge Check Valve And Body Assembly (Part Number: OEM6119607)

Ej, Presumably, you've checked the drain hose for kinks twists and clogs, as well as the disposal connections and drains for the sink? Did you remove the sump cover and check to see if the cap or sump is clogged or restricted. Then check the drain solenoid and linkage to see that they operate and move up and down properly and the drain flapper inside the pump hasn't become loose on the shaft and is only partially open.

Bubba, You will want to check the impeller and pump to make sure that there is nothing clogged in it and if this checks good then the issue will most likely be the check valve and body assembly WD22X10024.

Our GE dishwasher was leaking water from the bottom front so we bought the inside door gasket and right and left baffles from you and installed them. We ran a cycle and noticed leaking right away from the bottom area, once the cycle completed, we opened it and saw several inches of water that didn't drain. I read from a few it could be a check valve, another said it was pump assembly. Wanted to get some advice so we don't order parts endlessly hoping it will fix. Those 3 parts we ordered were $90. Thanks for your help!

Sue, For the draining issue the most likely cause will be a piston and nut assembly that is faulty WD24X10018. For the leaking issue there should be a lower door seal that would most likely be the issue on it. The part number for the gasket would be WD08X10015.

Hello Ray. If the unit is not sending power to the solenoid and not draining, it sounds like the control module WD21X10100 may have failed on the unit. Make sure the sequence switch WD21X10018 is good on the unit. The control module has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.

Water is backing up from my sink back into the dishwasher. I have checked all of the plumbing drain lines. All lines are clear. I have drain line loop attached to underside of counter as high as possible. I do not have an air gap. It is not possible to install as I have granite countertops and no hole is available. It mostly seems to back up when washing dishes in sink and using disposal. Before turning disposal on when water is backed up into sink it appears that some water is backing up into dishwasher. This didn't always seem to happen, we have been in the house 9 years and only recently started having this problem. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Dave, You will want to check on the body valve and check assembly to make sure that the flapper on the check valve is still in position. If not then you will need to replace it as it would allow water to flow back into the unit if not in place. The part number is WD01X10177.

Hello Pete, There are several valves and flappers and there is one that goes in this assembly WD24X10018. I don't think it comes with the body valve and check assembly WD22X10024, but there is another in there that does come preassembled in it. There is also one in the main body of the pump housing assembly that is only available when you order the complete assembly WD26X10013. It is the main drain valve that is activated by the drain solenoid.

Hello Reg. Usually this is caused by low water level in the unit. If so, replace the water valve. If the water is good, then clean the filter screens in the unit.

Hello, My GE dishwasher is not draining. This happened about 6 months ago and I solved the problem by buying a new piston and nut assembly, so I don't think it is that part because of how recently I installed it. To make sure, I closed the piston and nut assembly with a zip tie and re-installed it. The dishwasher will drain when the nut is held closed. What does that mean? There is no blockage in the line and the pump and solenoid seem to be functioning as it will drain when the nut is held closed. Thanks so much!

Hello Eric, Based on the information it sounds like the body valve and check assembly would need to be replaced. Since piston and nut were replaced not log ago.

Hello Gary, You would want to pull the hose off the side of the drain and see if water comes out. If water comes out then you will need to replace the pump assembly WD26X10013. If the unit does not have water come out then you have a restriction inside the pump and would need to be cleaned out. Some water may trickle out with a block but no block it will pour out.

Sylvia, Yes the "check valve and body" need to be connected to the drain pump, by way of the hose WD24X221 and then to the drain hose, through the pump assembly. It works as an "anti syphon device" and keeps drain water from backing up into the dishwasher tub. For health and safety reasons, you do want to have it attached or connected properly. Thanks
