Andrea October 25, 2014 for Model Number GE Potscrubber 1230 When I turn the diswasher on, it makes a loud grinding sound, ( it seems to be when it is filling up with water). This dishwasher is anything but quiet. It also makes this loud grinding noise when it gets ready to stop completely. I moved on the house and the dishwasher came with the house? Not cleaning as well as it should. Could it need a new pump and motor?
1 Answer Andrea, You will want to access the pump assembly and make sure that there is nothing caught in it and make sure that the impeller is not damaged causing the issue. It is possible that the bearings on the pump and motor assembly are bad. Read More...
Daniel August 16, 2014 So I've installed this part. When I turn the dishwasher on, the motor isn't working. The motor is heating up like crazy but not spinning. What could be the issue? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Daniel, The motor could be wired wrong, there could be a foreign object preventing the motor from turning, or the voltage to the motor could be incorrect. Read More...

Whitetail April 22, 2014 for Model Number Hot point HDA3220Z07BB Water draining directly under the motor assembly. When the pump goes bad do they leak?
1 Answer Hello Whitetail. Yes, they can leak if they are bad and the seals fail. You will need to determine if it is the housing or the pump. The best repair is to replace the whole assembly. Read More...
Michael April 21, 2014 for Model Number GE QuietPower 3 Dish Washer Hello. After watching your video I pulled out my dishwasher to look at replacing the pump and motor assembly. Your replacement pump looks similar, but somewhat different than the one in my unit now. This was expected. What I am unsure of though is one of the connections on my existing dish washer (the one that is right under the motor if my dish washer were upside down) has an opening that is smaller than the replacement piece has. Mine looks like it is an inch across and the replacement is perhaps 2 to 3 inches. Not sure if there is an adapter I need, but it is not shown in the included parts, and was not in the video. Thanks
1 Answer Michael, We would need to have the model number of the unit to be able to assist you properly. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Rodney April 01, 2014 for Model Number GSD5120D03BB The dishwasher does not drain after the wash cycle is complete. The drain line has been checked… it is clear.
1 Answer Hello Rodney. If you are sure the unit is not clogged, and there is power coming to the drain pump, you will need to order and replace the drain pump WD19X10015 on the unit. Read More...
Scott March 14, 2014 for Model Number GSD3230F00WW I have a GE dishwasher which is not getting enough water pressure to spin the spray arms and is obviously not washing dishes. When turned on, it spurts a quick stream of water, then just bubbles over. I have replaced the piston and nut assembly because it was showing signs of wear, but no change. The motor seems to be working. Ideas?
1 Answer Scott, With the unit not getting enough water, the most likely cause for this issue would be clogged water valve WD15X10003 or faulty water valve. Also check to make sure that the float switch is not stuck. Read More...
Mike November 11, 2013 for Model Number GE GSD5400 Dishwasher The unit fills with water and the heating element is working, I hear a click and then nothing. The wash part of the cycle does not start, after some time the unit drains and goes into rinse then drains again. At no time does water appear anywhere but the bottom of the unit. Is this a bad Circ Pump? Is there anything else I should check before purchasing the part?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Test for power to the circulation pump. If there is power there, and the pump does not run, you will need to replace the circulation pump on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Eileen October 24, 2013 for Model Number 36315161790 The repair man said my pump is leaking and that is why the water is not reaching the top of the dishwasher and is not draining completely. If I was to buy the new pump to replace it, will it fix these problems? Is it much harder to replace than the video is showing if the part has been changed and improved? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Eileen. If the pump is leaking, replacing the part should fix the water level in the unit. However, it is not an easy part to replace but can be done using the video. However, it is a timely repair to do. Read More...
Jeff October 06, 2013 for Model Number GSD3600G00BB Hi, I've checked for any hose blockages to/from the dishwasher to disposal and there do not appear to be any. Water seems to drain fine while the sump is in operation (I see water flowing into the disposal). Then the pump tub area fills back up again to the top of the sump cap after the pump ceases operation. I don't think that much water is supposed to be left in the dishwasher. I've changed out the piston and nut assembly, but this did not seem to help. I've also removed the piston assembly to make sure the rubber isn't distorted, and I've also checked the valve gasket and this also appears to be ok. Is this just a bad pump assembly?
1 Answer Jeff, Check to make sure that the drain hose is properly positioned where it is either going to an air gap or it is going to the bottom of the countertop before going to the drain on the disposal. If this checks ok then the pump is the most likely cause of the unit not draining completely. Read More...
