The Complete GE Pump and Motor Assembly is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. This assembly is integral to the dishwasher’s functionality, as it combines both the pump and motor components that work together to circulate water during the wash and rinse cycles. The pump forces water through the spray arms, while the motor drives this process, ensuring thorough cleaning of the dishes.

Over time, the pump and motor assembly can wear out due to constant use and exposure to water and detergents. Additionally, debris or hard water buildup can clog the pump, causing strain on the motor and leading to failures. Electrical issues or damage from power surges can also impair the assembly's performance.

Symptoms of a bad pump and motor assembly include:

  • The dishwasher not cleaning dishes properly
  • Water not circulating or spraying during cycles
  • Unusual noises, such as grinding or humming, coming from the dishwasher
  • Water not draining properly from the tub
  • The dishwasher not starting or completing cycles

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Tom for Model Number GSD2200G00BB

My dishwasher wasn't draining so I pulled it out and cleaned the drains. After putting it back under the sink I noticed water leaking from under the dishwasher. I pulled it out again and ran it to see if I could see the leak. It looked like it was coming from the pump connect. I removed the clamps for the pump connect and the inlet sump and re-tightened them. I ran a cycle with water only and there wasn't any leaks. I then ran a cycle with liquid detergent and it is leaking again. Do you know what is causing this?

Hi Ed. You first need to remove the racks and use a shop vac. and tools to clean entire unit . This way it may save you money in case it is only clogged. You can use a pick tool to invert and flush out the wash arms where they have clogged especially on the ends. Then remove the t6op screen cover /filter and lay aside all parts so you can reinstall them one at a time. At the bottom half, there is a black 2-1/2 " diameter impeller which may be clogged and you are loosing pressure there. You will get to the chopper blade and then you are pretty much as about as far a you can go on a clean up. Inspect all parts and let us know if you need to replace anything. Thank You. --

Hello John. You will need to check and see if the drain solenoid WD21X10060 is bad in the unit. If so, it will cause the problems you are having. Also, check and make sure the water level is good in the dishwasher. if not, it will cause the dishes not to clean on the top rack. If it is low, replace the water valve WD15X10003. Hope this helps.
