Victor June 04, 2012 for Model Number GE GSD2020Z04BB Hello, I posted an earlier question and the reply was that I may need three parts. I decided to determine where it is actually leaking and it is coming from were the motor shaft goes into the pump. So it appears that I will only need the pump seal kit AP631386. Do you agree? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello Victor. Yes, if the unit is leaking from there, it sounds like you will need to replace the pump seal kit WD19X10032 in the unit. Read More...
Otis June 02, 2012 for Model Number Gsm2100g00ww When I turn my dishwasher on, the motor doesn't kick on. I get a small sound of water running, but nothing else. I took the panel off and cleaned the motor with air and manually rotated the fan. That seemed to work for a while, but now every time I run the dishwasher, I now have to manually move the motor fan with a screw driver before it will start. Do I need to replace the entire motor?
1 Answer Hello Otis, If you have to spin the motor by hand before the motor will start, you have a winding in the motor that has failed. The only way to correct this issue is to replace the motor assembly WD26X10013. Read More...
Victor May 30, 2012 for Model Number GE GSD2020Z04BB Water is leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher. I removed the toe panel and saw that water is dripping from the motor. Judging from previous questions and answers on this website, it appears that I have to replace the pump and the motor? Or can I replace some washers or seals? The dishwasher still runs well and appears to be in great shape but is it still worth R/R a pump and motor instead of purchasing a new dishwasher?
1 Answer Hello Victor. You need to check and see if it is leaking from the pump seal kit WD19X10032, pump connect WD18X214, or the sump inlet WD18X213. If the leaking is from one of these three parts, you can just replace the part. If the leak is coming from the motor housing, it is beast to replace the pump and motor assembly WD26X10013. 1 Answer Hi Jerry. It is an internal sump pump area dismantle and replacement. There will be every seal and hardened screw and shaft to deal with as the shaft has a seal. So many people have more issues then just replacing the whole complete motor pump assy. part # WD26X10013 altogether and take care of future issues. Send us the model # and we may be able with more information on other part #'s . Thank You. Read More...
Lee W. April 25, 2012 for Model Number GSD2030ZO4WW As soon as it goes to the rinse and hold cycle it starts flooding above the motor. All hoses are tight and no leaks are coming out of the pump. Do I need a new pump motor? Or does it come together?
1 Answer Hi Lee. You will need to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet, remove the pump assembly from the sump and the pump connect assemblies and the extract and install the new pump connector through the tub opening. There are two(2) filters in the unit AP2039197 the sump cover filter and underneath that, is the sump cap/filter AP2039198. You remove the two screws from the cover and lift both components out of the sump. Here's the basic information for removing the lower spray arm assembly," WASH ARM SERVICE AND DISASSEMBLY: 1. Check spray arm holes for bits of china, seeds and other foreign matter. 2. Check spray arm rotation. 3. Remove nut tower, LEFT HAND THREADS- by using a screwdriver blade. 4. Lift out Power Tower assembly and Nut Tower. 5. Remove 1(4" hex head screw from the center of the wash arm to release arm. 6. Spray arm hub and entire spray arm assembly can be removed by turning spray arm hub (right hand threads) and removing. 7. Reverse to reassemble." Thank You. Read More...
James W. April 23, 2012 for Model Number gsc3200jo1bb Replaced mtr/pump assy and water valve. Unit works ok, but occassionaly I need to hit on the top to get it it started? After that it completes the cycle with no problem. I know the unit is started by opening and closing the latch. Is there an on/off switch somewhere?
1 Answer Hello James. You will need to look for a loose connection int he unit. If there is no, the inter lock switch WD21X10261 may be bad and will need to be replaced if it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
James W April 09, 2012 for Model Number gsc3200jo1bb HAVE MOD#GSC3200JO1BB SER#ML619245A ,BOUGHT THIS UNIT THAT HAD BEEN SITING IN STORAGE,AND NEVER USED ,INITIALLY WOULDN`T RUN,BUT AFTER I TAPPED ON THE MOTOR A COUPLE OF TIMES IT RAN FINE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS,NOW WON`T RUN AGAIN,BUT SOMETHING HUMS AND THE TIMER COMPLETES ITS CYCLE,BUT NO WATER OR WASH ACTION?SENT THIS ? EARLIER TODAY WOULD LIKE TO GET AN ANSWER. THANKS
1 Answer James, That style pump assembly WD26X10013 does have a tendency to "seize up" if left empty and not used for extended periods of time. Usually, turning the motor shaft, manually a few revolutions will solve that issue. As for the The no water or wash action, is another issue, It could be a fill valve issue WD10M10 it may be clogged or seized up as well, also check and make sure the float and float switch WD12X334 and WD21X479 were not dislodged during the installation or storage period. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Ron W. April 09, 2012 for Model Number GSC3200JO1BB/SER#ML619245A The unit I have is a 2006 mod ,but was sitting in a whse unused in new condition, originally would not start. I tapped on the mtr a couple of times, and then it ran fine for a couple of days. Now will not work although, something comes on and hum`s and the timer completes its cycle?
1 Answer Hi Ron. From the description it is a issue with the motor bearings being dry for too long. Meaning that they were not rotated in use for so long and did not self lubricate. So it will be in your best interest to replace the motor /pump part # WD26X10013. Thank You. Read More...
Neil April 04, 2012 for Model Number GSD3630ZZ3WW Recently (as in the past couple of loads) the top rack does not get clean. It looks as if food from the bottom rack is getting washed up onto items in the top rack, and then the top rack doesn't rinse well and has bits of food stuck on the glasses. Could it be the pump is going bad and doesn't have enough power anymore to push the water forcefully enough to rinse the top rack? Thanks, Neil
1 Answer Hello Neil, This sounds more like a water heating issue than a pump issue. First off let me explain my line of reasoning. If the pump weren't circulating the water, the food particles would never get into the dishes on the top rack. Secondly, the chemical reaction that causes the food particles to release from the dishes and forces them to mix with the water instead of floating on the surface of the water doesn't take place until the water reaches 140°F. Therefore, eliminating the possibility of a cheap detergent, the water temperature cannot be sufficient to create the chemical reaction. In this unit you only have two components that can be at fault besides the wiring harness. The heating element WD5M6 and the timer WD21X10020. Jeff March 19, 2012 for Model Number GSD3230Z04WW When I turn the dish washer on it just hums. The timer goes thru it's cycle. As it gets to the small wash cycle some water goes in then thats all that happens. It doesn't drain after that.
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor assembly WD26X10013 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
