The Refrigerator Union Connector is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. It is responsible for connecting the water supply lines from the kitchen plumbing to the refrigerator, allowing water to flow to the ice maker and water dispenser. The plastic connector assists your water dispenser by joining two 5/16 inch x 5/16 inch plastic water lines. Over time, Union Connectors can crack or break under pressure.

Causes of a bad Union Connector include wear and tear from repeated use, exposure to extreme fluctuations or surges in water pressure, or damage from accidental mishandling.

Symptoms of a bad Refrigerator Union Connector include:

  • Water leaks at or near the connector area
  • Inconsistent or no water flow to the ice maker/dispenser
  • Fluctuations in water pressure to the fridge
  • Water damage to surrounding kitchen areas from leaks

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hector, If you replaced the filter cartridge MWFP properly, and you have proper water pressure at the fill valve connection (32psi, constant) then the issue would be in the filter head assembly WR02X45209. You may want to install the bypass cap and test the flow at the dispenser, then install the filter again, as a test. Thanks

Hello Tom. If you installed a new union WR02X11330 and it is leaking, it sounds like the water lines are not pressed into the union far enough and that is causing the leak in the unit.

Hello Henry, There should be no problem with that for a fix as long as you can get to the splice points well enough to get the water lines fully seated into the couplers.

Hi Darlene. No this connector does not connect the water line from the house water to the unit water valve. There is a Whirlpool brand 1/4 " x 84 " long water line for the ice maker part # W10505928RP. There is a generic stainless steel braided water line 1/4" x 84" water line also part # TJ9SSIM7. Thank You.

Jarrel, Yes you could repair the damaged water tube, using that method. Just remember to re seal the opening in the liner around the tube, or you will get moisture in the refrigerator. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Jarrel. The front of the dispenser where the selecting buttons are, will unsnap out of the dispenser assembly. Do not try to remove the outer frame of the dispenser, there is no need to do so. Once removed, you can remove the screws holding the housing in place and access and replace the water line in the door. Make sure the union WR02X11330 is removed at the bottom of the door. Hope this helps.

Hello Wayne. You will need to disassemble the dispenser and gain access to the old water line. Pull the old water line out of the door through the dispenser. Start the new water line in the dispenser and push it until it comes out the bottom of the door. Sometimes the door will need to be removed from the refrigerator to do this. Hope this helps.
