Stephen June 16, 2018 Follow up. Okay, hooked the quick cool motor back up and selected the QuickFreeze option from the freezer door panel. Fan works fine. So I guess we can eliminate that. The fan in freezer seems to be putting out cold air, but I don't know what is normal. The temperature in the Freezer is 0 and the refrigerator section is 37.
Stephen June 16, 2018 I have a GE Profile Model PSW23PSWASS. I have replaced the water valve and the icemaker. Now that the icemaker is making ice it is melting intermittently in the ice container and water is dripping down in to the freezer, primarily down the sides. I have checked the Quick Chill fan motor and it does not come on when I press the door light switch. Is it supposed to run when I press the door light switch or only when the Quick Chill option is selected on the front panel? Other thoughts on what is causing this?
1 Answer Stephen, The quick chill will only work when that setting is selected. If the ice is melting in the bin then would suggest to check to make sure that the unit is not sticking in defrost. Read More...
Bill August 03, 2016 for Model Number PSS26SGPASS I hear a growling noise from the bottom of the cold food section, lasting 3 to 5 seconds, Happens every 10 to 15 minutes. From reading your website, I'm thinking damper. There are two listed for this fridge, part # WR60X10063 (single) and WR60X10062 (double). From my description, can you determine which is the one that needs replacing? The temp in the freezer and the cold food section are both fine...... More detail: there are actually two different growling or "woodpecker" sounds. A low pitch one if I press the Express Thaw button and a higher pitched one if I press the Express Chill button. Both noises seem to come from the same area at the bottom of the cold food (not freezer) section of the unit. Thank you so much for your help!!!
1 Answer Hello Bill. The only way to know which one is bad and making noise is to access the dampers and cycle them to see which one is bad. Otherwise, you could order and replace both WR60X10062 and WR60X10063 to be sure you repaired it while you were in there. Read More...
Frank August 06, 2015 for Model Number pss25ngnacc The custom cool unit is not working properly. I replaced the main circuit board and when I turned on the custom cool to the meat setting it started a fan blowing and the temp went down to 28 degrees. I turned the custom cool off and then on a little later, it started blowing again then shut off. Now the temp is at 44 degrees. The freezer is at 0 and the ref. is at 37. Any suggestions. Thanks Frank
1 Answer Hello Frank. You will need to test and see if the temp sensor WR55X10025 is bad in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Debbi June 30, 2015 for Model Number PSS26NHPCCC What is the difference between the Damper ASM supply and the fridge damper assembly. It is freezing in my fridge and the damper is stuck open or broken. not sure if I am getting - WR60x10062 ASM or wr49x10091 thanks
1 Answer Debbie, The part number that you would need for your unit if the refrigerator is freezing would be the damper assembly WR49X10091. The difference is the damper supply assembly WR60X10062 is located by the custom cool and is for that compartment and the other is for the refrigerator section. Read More...
