Chris August 27, 2014 for Model Number GSS23WGTACC the other day the freezer starting getting warmer, ice cream was melted . shut it down, let it defrost for an hour. in the morning everything was fine, temp was -1. as the night went on the temp rose. in the morning it was at -1 again. 15 hours later it is rising again. no frost on the back of the freezer
1 Answer CHris, The first thing that you will want to do is to check the thermistors in the unit. The resistance rating of each thermistor. The thermistor resistance should be 42K ohms at 0 degrees, 14.4K ohms at 37 degrees and 5k ohms at 77 degrees. If these check ok then the control board would be the most likely issue. Read More...

Joani August 18, 2014 for Model Number GSS23WGPA My freezer coils keep frosting over. I've melted the frost and it just keeps happening. I've replaced the ice door flap and selenoid already. The freezer is making Ice. From what I can read here, it looks like I must now replace the defrost heater piece but there is some question about one tube or 2? I did well with the other pieces because of your video. Would you please be very specific and tell me what to buy and how to fix the problem. I cannot buy a new Fridge/Freezer. Thanks very much
1 Answer Hello Joani. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater WR51X10101 and the defrost thermostat WR50X10068 and the thermistor WR55X10025. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the control board WR55X10942C. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Amber January 09, 2014 for Model Number GSL25JFTA BS GE side-by-side I need to replace the heater bracket assembly but also need new "clips" (not sure of the correct name - but it is the end of the blue and pink wires that has a metal connector and plastic casing that plugs into the bracket assembly). The ones that are on the wires now burnt and are black and charred. Can you help me locate the right part? Also, will I need to buy 4 since it looks like this bracket has four plug ins? Thanks!
