Going Crazy January 06, 2020 for Model Number GE MODEL GTDX180GD1WW takes several cycles to dry anything. Burner lights properly, stays on for approx. 2 minutes then cycles off. Will relight in approx. 50seconds and stay on for 45-60 seconds. This continues over and over. Gas valve solenoids resistance are all within factory specs. Tested thermostatic switches, opening and closing within recommended temps. Continuity in all switches. Heat exiting the oulet vent is only 139 degrees F. Burner is not staying on long enough to produce required temp. Should outlet temp be approx. 180 degrees F. These tests were done on high temp cotton setting, and on timed cycle. Clothes still took several cycles to dry on either setting. HELP PLEASE!!!!!
1 Answer Going Crazy, Sounds like an airflow issue, make sure the vent is clear and is not crimped or crushed anywhere, for the vent four-inch rigid pipe is recommended. Read More...
Dave March 16, 2019 for Model Number drsr495gg9ww Gas dryer - I can hear the gas ignite, but after a few seconds the gas shuts off. Then restarts the cycle again. I do get some heat in the dryer, but it is constantly cycling on/off. Need to replace the main coils on the gas valve? I cleaned out the vent so I don't think it's a high temperature limit trip.
1 Answer Dave, there is a heat detector on the side of the burner tube, WE4X448, it senses high temperature and will open up when it gets real hot, you can check it for continuity, it should read closed when it is cold, open when it gets hot. That is where I would start, if it checks good, replace the coils. 279834 Read More...
Joe November 13, 2017 for Model Number DBXR453GA2WW After removing front cover and drum, to diagnose a no heat condition, I observed the following. igniter glows, flame comes on but shuts off after a few seconds
1 Answer Joe, This issue would most likely be caused by faulty gas coils which you could use part number 279834. Read More...
Saul June 25, 2016 for Model Number DRSR483GG8WW When cycling, I think the gas valve chattering? It is quite loud. Your rep had me purchase a CONTROL TIMMER # WE04X20416, $45. I will return this item as it did not resolve the problem. The dryer otherwise runs normally, This will need to be fixed as it will create a concern as I am selling my home and this will come up as a problem.
1 Answer Saul, With the gas valve chattering then this would most likely be a valve issue and would want to replace the gas valve. The part number for the valve is WE11X20711. Read More...
Dano July 26, 2014 for Model Number DVLR223GGOWW What is wrong if at first start off drying a load the igniter glows and ignites burner, Then after that the igniter comes on and goes off without igniting burner-and igniter try's over and over every 30 seconds or so?
1 Answer Dano, This issue would most likely be caused by faulty gas coils on the dryer. This could also be caused by a clogged vent so check the venting of the unit to make sure that there is no clogging. Read More...
Michael December 15, 2012 for Model Number DCVH515GF1GG GE GAS DRYER I replaced the booster/safety coil ohms not to spec. Question is I start the dryer, the ignitor comes on and I see a glow for about 20 seconds, it goes off, dryer runs for 2 mins then shuts off. The display says still drying but not running. Any ideas?
1 Answer Michael, Since there are no thermal fuses or safety thermostats in the circuit, and the dryer is Shutting off, you'd have to suspect a loos of L1 power to the control board or and fault in the control board WE4M489. Read More...
1 Answer Hello David. You will need to test and see if your getting power to the igniter. If so, you will need to replace the igniter WE04X25996. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ray N. February 28, 2011 How do I determine if this coil and/or main coil are in need of replacement?
1 Answer You can check the coils with an ohm meter. They should read closed. If open, you will need to replace. Read More...
