The Fan Blower is an OEM part for GE ranges and wall ovens. This part helps to circulate air within the oven cavity. The fan blower ensures that heat is evenly distributed during cooking, contributing to consistent cooking results, and prevents the electronic components from overheating, which could lead to malfunctions or reduced lifespan of the appliance.

Causes of damage to the Fan Blower can include accumulation of debris and grease, which can obstruct the fan and strain the motor, and mechanical wear over time that affects the fan's efficiency.

Symptoms of a bad Fan Blower in a range include:

  • The oven not cooking evenly
  • Overheating of the range's electronic control panel
  • Unusual noises, such as rattling or buzzing

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Joe for Model Number JT1000DF3BB

Our wall oven cut out one day while in use. The outage appeared as though the the circuit was tripped (shut off and display went blank). In about 10 minutes the oven came back on (clock was off the time the display was blank), but no error code was present. Suspect it over heated. We tried to duplicate the issue once, but was not successful. The oven stayed on, but blower does not appear to be blowing. It sounds like something kicks on, but no air flow and no air flow sounds. I suspect something is wrong with the blower and needs to be replaced. I am suspect the blower needs to be replaced, but wanted to get your opinion. I appreciate your help.

Joe, Using a multimeter check for power to the blower. If it has power and is not running the blower will need to be replaced.

Kathy, the error F96 is going to indicate the speed of the cooling fan is below the minimum parameter. The cooling fan would need to be checked for any debris that could be stopping it up as well as testing the speed sensor WB27T11463 for a pulsing 5VDC from pin 1 to pin 2 and from pin 2 to pin 3. If the fan does not rotate during operation but there is 120VAC being applied to it, the fan WB26X31060 would need to be replaced. If the fan is rotating but there is not a 5VDC pulse at the sensor, the speed sensor board would need to be replaced. If there is not 120VAC reaching the fan during operation or it is operating and there is a 5VDC pulse at the speed sensor, the machine control WB27X25554 would need to be replaced.
