Jb January 21, 2020 for Model Number DPSR610EG4WT I have a GE Profile dryer that starts and runs a few minutes then shuts off. Top right side of dryer feels hot. Will not immediately restart when attempt to push start button. After approximately 10 minutes when push start button dryer starts with no issues. Have had dryer vent professionally cleaned. What could be the cause?
1 Answer JB, with the unit unplugged, the element would need to be inspected for any grounded out coils be testing from each terminal to ground. The dryer blower housing would also need to be inspected to ensure that it is not clogged up or that the blower wheel WE16X20393 is broken. Read More...

Len June 09, 2018 for Model Number DRSR483ED2WW I have to replace felt trap duct, without the felt trap duct when the dryer is operating their is a squeaking noise ,is this because of the felt trap duct missing or could it be something else? Thanks
1 Answer Len, If the trap duct felt is missing from the unit it would cause the squeaking noise but also check the bearing slides to make sure that they are not damaged or missing. Read More...
Craig January 29, 2017 I replaced the four shims and the top plastic pc that the front part of the drum sits in on my ge dryer and now the dryer will not turn. It seems like it is to tight. Can I remove a shim? Or what do you suggest?
1 Answer Hello Craig. No, you do not need to remove those. You need to check and see what has the drum in a bind. The shims will not cause a drum to bind up on the units. Read More...

Kathleen May 18, 2016 We have an older Whirlpool dryer, and when my husband replaced a broken belt, he noticed the the drum seal is torn in a three or four inch section, causing a slight gap. Is it still safe to use the dryer, or should we replace the seal? Thank you!
Ryan March 17, 2016 I was drying clothes and Sparks shot out the door. The felt seal was totally off. had found it when I got the dryer and had no idea what it was. now I realize my error. was wondering if the dryer is still safe to use if the felt seal is replaced. there are scorch marks and the metal seems to have melted/warped a bit by the door.

Adam August 26, 2015 for Model Number DBXR463EG0WW Can the removal of this felt seal cause overheating of the dryer? I had replaced heating element, and I noticed the air blowing out of the dryer vent was roomish temperature, but the top of the dryer was too hot to touch, I turned it off immediately and am curious if forgetting that piece might have made the unit unable to extract the air from the dryer inside? Is this possible? My brother is a electrician and he is going to look at the fuses/thermostats in a week, but I was just curious if the felt seal could cause lack of blower effectiveness, because the air was flowing good out of the dryer, but it was not hot at all, and the element and inside the dryer the air seemed to just be focusing on the top of the dryer, just rising up not being pulled out if thats what is supposed to happen.
1 Answer Hello Adam. Yes, you will lose the seal on the drum and cause the heat to be released into the cabinet. It needs the seal WE09X27634 on it. Read More...
