The Sump Filter and Cover is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It filters out food particles and debris from the water during the dishwashing cycle, preventing the particles from recirculating and depositing on dishes. The cover ensures that the filter stays in place and also aids in the proper flow of water through the dishwasher.

A well-functioning sump filter and cover are vital for maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of your dishwasher. Over time, the filter can become clogged with food particles and debris, which can reduce the effectiveness of your dishwasher.

Symptoms of a bad Sump Filter and Cover include:

  • Poor cleaning results
  • Visible debris on dishes after washing
  • Water not draining properly
  • Unusual noises during the dishwasher cycle

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Audrey. You need to check the water level inside the unit and make sure the water is reaching the bottom of the heater. If not, you will need to replace the water valve WD15X10003 on the unit. If the water level is low, it will prevent the water from having enough pressure to supply the system and turn the spray arms.
