Symptoms of a bad oven door gasket include:

  • Excessive heat loss around the door area

Hello Gary. This is the factory recommended door gasket replacement part # WB2X3138. You will need to lock the door hinges so you can lift the door off the cabinet. Lay the door on a shipping blanket on top of a suitable table top. Remove all side, top and bottom screws to remove the inner door panel. Then unclip the old gasket off the door and thread the ends of the gasket inside the door as the old one was. Take pictures if needed. Thank you.

Red for Model Number JBP30BA2

GE ELECTRIC RANGE. I have excessive heat coming through the vent hole located on rear burner. The vent hole is from the oven. Thinking it could possibly be the Door Gasket that is not sealing, thus letting in excessive air from outside that rushes through the oven and flows through the vent. Lots of heat pouring out of this vent. I watched the do it yourself video about replacing the gasket, but my gasket is on the door, not the body of the appliance. Is this a door it yourself? How...the GE PART number is listed as WB2X3138. Any ideas on this fix? Thanks..great help here.

Hello Red. As long as the oven is on, the heat will come out there. It is suppose to do this so it can vent properly.

Nirav for Model Number model # J BP24G003A (maybe Os or 0s after G) serial # HH206533G from May 1981

I've been writing to GE to no avail about this oven model # JBP24G003A (maybe Os or 0s after G) serial # HH206533G from May 1981. I was wondering if maybe you all might know anything also the following replacement parts do you know if they contain asbestos? Thanks http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-door-insul-wb2x8109-ap2013402.html http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-gasket-wb2x3138-ap2010552.html ... I have a GE stove/oven that was manufactured in May of 1981. I was planning on refurbishing it but I wanted to find out about asbestos first. I'm assuming the oven door gasket is made out of asbestos. But my question was about any information on the insulation on the inside of the oven walls. When I look at it it is a white fluffy material. Any information would be greatly appreciated. If you think it has asbestos could you let me know so I can replace the stove/oven. Thanks
