Albert October 16, 2016 for Model Number DDE7200SBLWW What is the trick to loading the pulley for the belt tension did not stay on the belt when removing belt, Possibly wrong size belt. GE dryer.
1 Answer Albert, The correct belt for the model number you supplied is WE12X10014 / WE12X10014. But a worn out or damaged belt wouldn't normally cause a problem with the idler pulley and spring, it will compensate for excess wear but only to a point. You do need to make sure the belt has no twists in it and is properly installed and routed around the drum, before you attempt to install the belt to the idler and motor pulley, this may help. "Front access allows removing belt from idler pulley at lower right. Remove belt as normal then place idler to the right on motor bracket. Lift up the drum, reach under the drum at the center relief on lower front. Pull idler towards center then back underneath the special motor mount bracket. The bracket has a hook that will hold idler arm and allow you to easily place the belt over the idler pulley & motor. " Once installed, turn the drum slowly by hand a few revolutions, this will allow the belt to align itself and the pulleys, if there is a problem, the belt will usually "kick" itself off the idler and or motor pulleys. Teri October 15, 2016 for Model Number DBLR333ET1WW I bought a new coil yesterday and installed it. The dryer worked through a load and a half and just cut off. It squealed very loudly though. I've taken it back apart now and i notice that the heating element may be ruined. It doesnt have a perfectly round hole in the center like the picture on here shows, it has a notch worn out toward the bottom left. So two questions....1) Is there something I may have to replace behind the housing? 2) Does the connectors and coil come with this assembly?
1 Answer Teri, The connectors and coil does come with the heater housing assembly which is part number WE11X103. Also check the bearing to make sure that it is good as this could cause the issue that occurred. There should be nothing behind the housing that would affect the heater. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Leon. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
