Hello Nancy. Either is fine as long as it was the correct one for the model number. If the heater is good and the thermostat is good, you will need to order and replace the main board on the unit.

Hello Mark, You do not, for any reason, remove the evaporator coils. If you do the freon will escape and the unit will not cool. Simply remove the back wall of the freezer compartment and there will be two screws at each heating element to remove it. The wires are routed down each side of the coils and the harness plugs in at the top.

Hello Linda. The only way this happens if to have something in the drain hose preventing the water from draining. You will need to blow out the hose on the unit until hot water flows freely though the hose.

Tm430 for Model Number GSH25JSTASS

I replaced the defrost heater and the thermostat part# wr51x10055 andwr50x10068 about 2 months ago, it seems like the problem is happening again because im seeing frost on the back wall of the freezer again. in reading some of the other letters it was mentioned that there was 3 thermostats 2 with the same part# and 1 with a different one. Also after the new parts were installed the freezer made a gurgling noise then it stopped and the frost showing up. I still can't fiind out how to ck continuity on the heater and thermostat.

Hello TM430, For a defrosting issue and you have already changed the defrost heater and thermostat it would more than likely be the evaporator thermistor WR55X10025 and control board WR55X10942C that need to be replaced. Here is a link that will show you how to check continuity and resistance. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Lillian for Model Number PSC25nstass

I checked my defrost heater and found it has 21.8 ohms. I noticed that one of the wire terminals connecting to the heater burned out. Could it be the problem the heater although having coninuity is not working? Here is my problem: The entier evaporator is covered with ice. I have changed the two hermisters in the freezer and the main contorl board. The problem of warm refrigerator still exists. I have ordered the heater, but was wondering whether I also need to change the burned wire terminal.

1 Answer

Hello Lillian. Yes, if the wire is burnt, you will need to repair the terminal on the wire as well.
