Lonnie Platt April 29, 2020 for Model Number FFEW3025PSC I have a Frigidaire single wall oven that will not hold temp. If you set the set point to 350 it will get to 350, but slowly cool down to 250 and will not try to get back to set point. I have replaced the thermostat on top of the oven, the high temp sensor on the back of the oven, the temperature sensor inside the oven, the relay on the back and the control board. The oven will still not hold temp. I did notice the fan comes on immediately when I turn the oven on and will shut off immediately as soon as I turn the oven off; regardless if the oven was 400 when I turn the power off. I thought the oven fan should run until the oven temp drops below a certain point. Any suggestions on what to try next? The only thing I have not changed out is the terminal block, fan motor or the heating element.
1 Answer Lonnie, You will want to check your wiring for broken or damaged wires that would be causing this issue since you have replaced the thermostat, sensor and board. Read More...
Robert January 31, 2020 for Model Number JKP30WM1WW My oven does not maintain a proper temperature when baking. The oven's display "knows" that it's not hot enough, because it will tell me that the temp is low or that it's not up to temp. I checked yesterday when baking at 450F and the oven was under 350F. I've been noticing cook issues for a while now. The broiler element will get red hot if set to broil and I can burn food with it. There appears to be no issue there. The bake element is hidden. I took it apart and out of the wall today and checked a few things at room temp. -Temp sensor reads 1080O -Broil element reads 15.8O -Bake element reads 25.6O All appears to be in spec from what I've seen, so now I'm not sure what to do next. Any help would be immensely appreciated.
1 Answer Robert, With all things checking ok then this would be a faulty control board not reading the temperature correctly in the oven. Read More...
Linda January 15, 2020 for Model Number JKP30SP2SS I had an electrical problem with down power lines. All is fixed but my oven will not come on. The light is working so I know there is power. I am not sure what to look for. Thanks
1 Answer Linda, the EOC main control WB27T11162 would need to be tested at the terminal L1 for 120VAC. If the control is receiving 120VAC, then the control display should be illuminated and if not, it has failed. If there is not 120VAC, then the unit would need to have the power turned off at the power supply and the L1 wire would need to be traced for any signs of damage. Read More...
Diane December 30, 2019 for Model Number PT926SR1SS Our oven runs too hot on settings over 350 degrees. At 375 it heats to 400, and at 400 it heats to 450. We have used an ohm meter to test the temp sensor (was fine), tested the elements (all fine) and replaced the control panel. The issue continues. Wondering what the GE high limit switch does and if this could be the issue. Or any other suggestions?
1 Answer Diane, based on the information provided, as the main control was replaced the most likely issue would be that the temperature sensor is failing at higher temperatures. The hi-limit switch is a safety device that protects the unit from overheating during operation. Read More...
Jkaretas November 07, 2019 for Model Number ZET1SL1SS single oven, wall. My oven will start beeping with error F9 at random times. When I kill the power at the breaker, it could be weeks or months, then all the sudden it will start back. It doesn't matter if we use the oven or not. At first thought it was a door lock issue, then read more and found control fan or thermal switch issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Jkaretas, with the power turned off to the unit, the vent motor WB26T10030 will need to be tested and should have a resistance of 20 ohms. During failure, the limit switch WB24T10131 near the fan motor would need to be tested for continuity and should have continuity unless it has reached 302°F. If these test good, then the most likely failure is with the relay board WB27T10821. Read More...
Jeff January 11, 2019 for Model Number PK956SM2SS When using the oven, it is going into lock mode. This will occur when preheating the oven. Last night it occurred when the oven was cooling down. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Jeff, You will need to check the oven sensors for about 1100 ohms of resistance at about 70°F. If these are good the issue is most likely a relay on the control WB27T10906. Read More...
Drew November 15, 2018 for Model Number jkp30dp1bb Calibrated oven at 350: reading came out 60 degrees low (from an extremely reliable thermometer). Replace both limit switches? WB24T10144 and WB24K5085?
1 Answer Drew, Test the oven temperature sensor. The resistance should be 1080 ohms at room temp. Replace if out of specs. Read More...
Tom October 09, 2018 for Model Number JKP78G*K3 The bake element 'popped' and had a visible crack in it so i replaced it with factory oem. However, new element doesn't heat up. I don't think its the control board b/c the broiler element heats up when oven is put into bake mode. I did a continuity test on the new element and it is good. Not sure how to get at the control panel to test wiring, as it shares a control displace with the micro. Wires to element look good. Is it the high limit switch? Do I need to pull the whole unit out to replace/ test circuitry?
1 Answer Tom, The relay board could have been damaged when the old element popped. Very carefully you can remove the element and test for voltage at the wires for the element disconnected and hit bake and see if you get voltage. Read More...
Greg May 04, 2018 for Model Number PGS975SEM1SS Having a completely dead control panel, I replaced the limit switch and fan. it happened again?
1 Answer Greg, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty oven control board which will be part number WB27T10832. Read More...
Barry June 10, 2017 for Model Number JKP30DP1BB Oven control turns on ans I hear the fan but oven elements hot heating up. I changed WB21X22134 (temperature sensor) but it is still not working or heating up. Could it be that WB24T10081 (Hi Limit Switch) needs to be changed? What does the Hi Limit Switch do? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Barry, The high limit thermostat WB24T10081 opens the circuit to both the bake and broil elements in case the relays on the control board stick in the closed position to prevent the possibility of a fire from over temperature. It can be tested for continuity with an ohm meter. If it shows continuity, it is good. If it shows no reading, it has failed and will require replacement. Read More...
