The Inner Tub Mounting is an OEM part for GE washing machines. It secures the inner tub to the washer's outer tub, providing stability and support during the wash and spin cycles. This mounting component is crucial for the proper alignment and operation of the washer's drum.

Causes of a bad mounting include excessive loads, continuous use over time, or physical damage due to impacts or misalignment. A faulty inner tub mounting can lead to significant operational issues and potential damage to other components.

Symptoms of a bad inner tub mounting include:

  • Excessive vibration or shaking during wash or spin cycles
  • Unusual noises or banging sounds
  • The inner tub appearing misaligned or loose
  • Leaks from the washer during operation

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Mark, Unfortunately the manufacturer does not list the inner tub mounting hub as a separate part for your unit and you will need to get the inner basket to get this.

Rick F for Model Number WHSE5240D0WW

my GE machine was not spinning properly and makign horrible noise. I removed the agitator and noticed the sub base assembled was rotted through. I ordered a new one and had great difficulty removing the nut that holds the hub base but wd 40 did the trick after a while. After reconnecting evenything I testing the machine and the spin cycle is not coming on. Any ideas? It is possible the door lid magnet is not engaging? There was no wire harness clip to detach the door so it may have had some pressure on it

Hello Rick. You will need to check the air dome, and pressure hose for clogs. Also, if both are good, you will need to check for a wiring issue. If it is good, then you will need to check the magnet and lid switch. You can remove the magnet and lay it on the switch to test it. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Jim. You can look at the transmission and see if it is leaking the grease or if it came from the bad hub. If it is leaking, then the transmission will need to be replaced.

Ann, To clean the mounting hub, you could use a wire brush to clean off rust or use a wire wheel that you can get for a drill which will work better.
